Crystal Palace hunting for 16-19 year-old star footballers in India

God damnit!!! Why does everything in India need to turn into a damn glamour competition!? What will this achieve!? The ideal thing to do would be for Mumbai City FC to partner with Crystal Palace FC so that Palace could help Mumbai City start their own academy in Mumbai and perhaps Maharashtra overall and start developing talent at a good pace but NO, instead lets have another competition to send one kid to England before he comes back, never to be heard from again!

Copied what @goalkeeper posted in the Indian football news thread:

The All Indian Football Federation on Friday revealed the names of 14 clubs which have already been confirmed for the U-19 I-League set to kick-off from December 13.

The league, like last year, will be divided into zones in the beginning and the Top 2 or just the Zonal champions will meet in the final round.

Mumbai FC, Pune FC, Kenkre FC, DSK Shivajians and PIFA have been clubbed together for the Maharashtra Zone while AIFF Elite Academy, Dempo SC, Salgaocar FC, SESA FC and Sporting Clube De Goa will play the Goa Zone.

The Kolkata Zone this time will be having just 4 teams in East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, United SC and Mohammedan Sporting while the Shillong Zone, which existed last year, will be merged into the Rest of India Zone.

Teams for the Rest of India Zone is yet to be announced but looks like it will be comprised of four North East teams- Chanmari FC, Aizawl FC, Shillong Lajong, Royal Wahingdoh along with Bengaluru FC, Hindustan FC, Lonestar Kashmir FC.

Whether Tata Football Academy will participate is yet to be known.

And that makes up for the others who probably don't? And then the ones who do, probably train in crappy conditions or under crap coaching... or both.
