It is only 6-months. I find it amazing that he will probably be payed more for 6-months than he would be with a long-term deal in the A-League. Guess this sets-up the move to Australia for 2016-17 or... you know... India. We payed bloody Elano over $500,000 for 2-3 months, no doubt Cahill would get that as well.
Fun fact... well, not for me: I worked at one of the fanciest restaurants in my town last summer I was told that a month before he left for China (so January), Cahill came in and had dinner there... he was a regular as well. Only 6-months before I worked for them god damn it! Cahill lived in the town next door to me and I have driven by his house before, beautiful place, he had 2 cars there, only recognized the Mercedes.
ATK offered Drogba 1 million $ for 4 months ( plus a lot of bonuses as weli) which he refused unfortunately...so money wouldnt be a concern in ISL , atleast in season 3. So its either A league or ISL in October for Tim Cahill...but you never know, if Tim is still focussed on playing another world cup he might well just join A league.
Theres a lot of guys who are running out of contract in summer and will be a decent acquisition as marquees in ISL teams...(not many big names, but neither are retired ):
Ricardo Carvalho (37, has been linked with FC Goa since first season) Jose Bosingwa ( 33, Trabzonspor) Scott Parker (35, Fulham) Klose (37, dream come true signing) Seidou Keita (35, Roma) Wes Brown (36, Sunderland) Dirk kuyt ( 36, We can give more money than Feyenoord for sure) pizzarro ( was linked with ATK last year) Berbatov (35)
Last but not least, you know your career is truly finished when you sign for a team in India having graced Europe. Lucio, Elano and others have opted to ply their trade in the Indian Super League - where the competition seems very poor but the money very high. WTAF
