India U-14 Girls National Team made merry against Bhutan in an emphatic 9-0 victory in the 2014 AFC Girls Regional Championship for South and Central Asia at the Baddegana Football Training Centre in Colombo on Monday (March 24, 2014).
Midfielder Sirjana Tamang scored four goals (15th, 18th, 22nd, 30th) in the first half to underline India’s dominance in a lop sided encounter. India led 4-0 at halftime.
Lifa Gama opened the scoring in the 2nd minute and added two more in the 24th and 36th minute. Roja Devi (21),and Daya Devi (31) also got their names on the scoresheet.
The win takes India to nine points from four outings with the girls in blue remaining in the second position behind Nepal who are in pole position with 12 points.

Nepal ensured they finished top of the heap and the winners of the Regional tourney after beating Tajikistan by two goals in the last Group game. They finished with their full quota of 15 points from five matches while second-placed India managed 12 from 5 outings.
Goals in both halves from forwards Daya Devi (31) Roja Devi (53) and Techi Amin (56) ensured the inaugural champions a comprehensive win on the back of their 9-0 annihilation of Bhutan in the previous game.
The 20th edition of the Women’s National Championship is all set to begin from April 27 till May 11, 2014 in the districts of Dibrugarh and Golaghat in Assam.
Twenty states have been divided into four groups of five with defending champions Orissa in Group B along with Karnataka, Goa, Mizoram, and Gujarat. The most accomplished side in the Tournament Manipur have been clubbed in Group A along with Railways, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.
In Group C two-time Champions West Bengal have been pitted against Delhi, Kerala, Bihar, Tripura while Group D comprise of Jharkhand, Assam, Pondicherry, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand.
