IFN members can write about the implications of this ban on Indian football--was it just a temporary blip or can it have a far-reaching impact on Indian football?

Can the ban and the resultant churning in sports and political circles go some way at least in raising some discussions on Indian football and help stymie the endemic rot there?

Is there a need to implement stringent sports laws as well as bring about a greater awareness about sports law both among the laymen as well as lawyers in our country?

Is it true that former footballers need to have a greater say in the administration of Indian football than politicians?

IFN members no doubt have expressed their views here--and some of them have been quite informative and knowledgeable, but what can be done is that a summary of these opinions can be made and an article written on it which can then be posted in the blog. (BTW, the blog has been idle for a long time, @mohammed_87hassan had been single-handedly keeping it active for a long time). If members are willing to contribute substantial pieces, then more than one article could also be posted on the blog.

It seems a perfect opportunity to ensure some visibility for IFN and help us reach out to a wider audience for the betterment of the football ecosystem

IFN has members from diverse professions--engineers, lawyers, doctors, academicians, IT professionals, businessmen, journalists and each of them can draw on his/her area of expertise

With Indian football gaining traction in recent times because of the FIFA ban and IFN having established itself as a not insignificant voice in this arena, we all can try to do our bit for Indian football in this way.

If you all remember, our former member Sanket's (shanks_dehighliving) article on how " AIFF Can Give the League System a Structure" proved to very popular and attracted a number of people to IFN.

A bit concerned with the last 4 lines of FIFA s letter. They said will send another letter regarding procedures for election, which means they might interfere in the current proceedings of elections- an entry again for Prafool? I hope i am reading too much into it and its nit true? What do you say?

The 2022-23 Hero Indian Super League (ISL) kicks off on October 7th, 2022 when last season’s runners-up Kerala Blasters host East Bengal FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi. Click here for full fixtures.

All Hero ISL teams are currently participating in Asia’s oldest competition, the Durand Cup, as they gear up for the Hero ISL season. All Indian football stakeholders have been determined to create a longer football calendar that provides players with more competitive matches throughout the year. The Hero ISL will be followed by the Super Cup in April, 2023.

The 2022-23 season will also be special as fans will be welcomed back to the stadiums after a gap of two seasons. To make it convenient for more fans and families to attend and watch their teams in action, the Hero ISL has created a fixture list with matches taking place on weekends. Each Matchweek is scheduled between Thursday and Sunday, bringing the Hero ISL in line with the top global football leagues.

This season onwards, Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) has also introduced a new playoff format for the league, adding two exciting matches into the calendar. The top two teams at the end of the league stage will automatically qualify for the semi-finals. Teams finishing between 3rd and 6th will feature in a single-leg playoff to determine the other two semi-finalists.
