According to AIFF sources, Churchill Brothers fulfilled 29 of the mandatory 42 A criteria of the Indian Club Licensing Regulations. They, in fact, did better than some prominent I-League clubs on some counts but faltered crucially with the financial criteria.
United Sports Club and Mohammedan Sporting fulfilled just 18 of the 42 criteria while Rangdajied United FC got just five criteria correct, having submitted only their financial papers. There are seven financial A criteria, which means Rangdajied United failed on two financial counts alone.
Churchill, though, said the assessment was not done fairly. For instance, club officials said, the AIFF inspection report suggested that Churchill Brothers had just one youth development team at a time when they had all the mandatory four. "Even on other counts, they have simply refused to have a look at our papers," said one official.
The cost of an appeal is Rs 1 lakh and the aggrieved clubs can file their appeal latest by Friday, May 30.
The AIFF are actually denying clubs that fail the AFC Licensing Criterias. Churchill Brothers were one of the clubs that failed due to missing a lot of the financial criteria.
@Gaffertape i know that u hate churchill like me but their youth teams and academy really exists i have personally seen their academy it very close to by house about 15 driving time they must have failed in financial criteria but not in youth teams
#goalkeeper. .compare their youth development to the other 3 Goan clubs..they are miles behind. Adopting a village team or just training an age group team in Goa is very easy. ..but its not the kind of youth development that AIFF wants or this country needs
Ya their lots behind then other 3 i will rate them like this 1. Salgaocar 2.SCG 3.dempo 4.churchill But u should agree they youth developed is much better than mumbai they should atlist get a national license + they have lots of training grounds and facilities
Regardless, both clubs are rubbish and should have been banned. My personal theory on Mumbai staying is due to them being owned by Essel Group. Get rid of Mumbai FC by force and Essel Group could cut the cord on I-League being televised on TEN Action/Sports as well as any other Indian football stuff.
