All Churchill Brother's player's except the Goan ones can leave the Club ..irrespective of the duration of their contracts. Club has not paid salaries for 3 months , one can unilaterally terminate the contract and demand the remainder amount. Of they write to AIFF/AFC/FIFA then Churchill won't be aklowed to get Club license without clearing such dues
In an unprecedent move couple of days back(am sure Kolkata folks are aware), EB official Debabrata Sarkar has lambasted some of the senior players for their lack of commitment and indiscipline in the just concluded session, and they attribute this to EB once again coming second best in the I- League. He has categorically said players with contract can leave the club if do not agree to the package set for them.
Good move that.. These "Safed hathis" need a pile driver up thier back side - as players plying their trade in Kolkata try to squeeze the balls of the hapless and foolish officials year-on-year; while these same players when they play in Goa, try to search for their own balls when negotiating with clubs ( Tolgay , Odafa being the recent examples!). Finally better senese seems to have prevailed with the Big two clubs, who are acting more judiciously this time (Ranti's case though, was again a foolish act by EB). Also UB group not increasing the budget is a blessing in disguise - with tighter budget coupled with the criteria to fulfill on Youth development comittment, time is now ripe to cut the balls to size of these errant and unprofessional footballers!
