@Gaffertape can you please tell us sometjhing about release clause for players who sign more than a year's contract. For example you said all BFC players had more than a year's contract. But they are releasing Johnny, so how does this happen. They pay some compensation to the player?
@Soccerlover Do you also know how the same person who you have mentioned has been fooling N number of young and promising footballers by making them sign crazy contracts and destroying their careers?
wakao10 I spoke abot Debabrata Sarkar and how he has come down heavily on some of the EB players. So I really cant understand ur point/question. If u cud be bit more specific.
So many "confirmed" transfers but no sources!!!! People please, can we not repeat last year's transfer thread of just posting whatever we find on facebook or whatever and actually take the time to see if it is true, a rumor, or bull! PLEASE!
@Soccerlover I am speaking about the same person, and at the end of the day, both of them are the same.
All I wanted to say was that what you pointed out as a good thing is completely wrong. The EB officials have forced so many players to sign documents reducing their salary at the beginning of the season, which then they sent out in the media as ' Players love EB so much that they volunteered to take pay cuts.'
wakao10 U said EB screwed up the career of so many youngsters; i asked for the name. On the contrary, u will see so many talented younsgters made their name/fame(and ofcourse money) by signing for EB; EB is the only kolkata club, who goes for 2/3 years' contract for majority of their players & the advantage is for both the player(more secured/for most, they r retained even if they have had a mediocre season) and the club(long term contract, hence having to shell out lesser money, as opposed to paying more when u have annual contract and want to extract big players frm other clubs); so many players hv long term contract and hv been benefitted - Arnab, Soumik, Vashum, Naoba, Dika, Mehtab, Lobo, Baljit,Len, Subodh....almost the entire squad; thats also the reason , why EB have been the most consistent team in recent years(and not like a Churchill who is I-League champion one year and fights for relegation the next year!); also show many any Kolkata player who has been taken away either by Goan clubs/Pune/BFC/Shillong at a price more than what kolkata clubs offered them. There wont be none. The point I am making is 1. There is lack of professionalism/accountability amongst the players when they play for kolkata clubs, which is stemmed from the fact that the officials of Kolkata are jokers - and hence these players take the clubs for a ride (knowing fully well, if they win the Kolkata derby they can make hefty amount in next years' transfer market - but only in Kolkata); 2. The same players, when they are kicked on their butt realise their real "worth" and go begging at other clubs outside only to be told very clearly - either perform consistently or perish (thats the right way); 3. Kolkata Clubs have finally realised this about they being taken for a ride by these bunch of crooks and that is why I said Debabrata Sarkar has given the right message this time at the right time - and u will see how most players would not be able to play games of trying to hike up their price falsely by tryin to use media/dalals this time.
