AIFF today conformed all 10 I league clubs have been relegated to new 2nd division league called League 1, I league has been discontinued, ACL spot has been gifted to ISL and AFC Cup spot to Super Cup.
I am not sure for how long ISL will be closed league with the league format like a cup tournament. FSDL with all their knowledge to run the league with so called expertise to market and grow the league should know that this type of closed league will not attract viewers or fans. ISL needs to be 15-20 team with proper league format running around 8-9 months with relegation and Promotion in place from the bottom leagues..Only then there will be level playing field for all clubs old and new, big and small to have a fair go to play and win the Top league. Also it will produce more fit players for the National team as league duration is longer. when is this FSDL clause for no relegation ending for the foundational ISL team?
