• Again I ask myself why we can't just do something similar to what the Australian's did and create an Indian version of the "Crawford Report" and work on making a new version of the I-League in 2014-15 based on the results and observations. For those who do not know what the Crawford Report is:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_Report_of_the_Independent_Soccer_Review_Committee

Also I would love to see more action being taken by the Sports Authority of India. We need a concrete partnership with the SAI and Indian government if Indian football is truly to take off. Right now we barely have both. This planning will not work.

The IMG-League will fail as well. Look at the teams! Chennai Rangers? I like the name but I hate the market. Chennai is not known for football recently and god knows if they will even get a proper attendance or fan fare. Same in Pune. Pune FC is already a failure in the attendance and fan support column. What makes Blackburn sure they can improve that? Fans will come out if Blackburn themselves play in Pune but not for some random fake club. Mumbai and Delhi? The Durand Cup Final was literally free and thus had fans, add prices and the fans will go away. Mumbai does not even have a stadium worthy of an IMG-League and the fan fare is shit. Bangalore has talent and a good stadium but the support is shit there as well. Kolkata will also be shit. No Indian team in Kolkata can work without the big 3. Look at the fans Prayag United does not get. Even there "safe heaven" known as Kalyani fails to produce fans now.

I said this before and I will say this again. The I-League and IMG-League is heading in the direction/will end up in the direction of the old NASL, NSL, and JSL in the United States, Australia and Japan respectively and fail. To many teams, over-expansion into unknown markets. The current set of teams are fully-reliant on sponsor money and can't produce other avenues of revenue. The player quality of Indians has decreased (Our top scorer is a midfielder on 7 goals... the lowest top scorer among any Indians after the I-League season ever). We have become to reliant on foreigners. And youth development has not taken the strides I keep hearing about, it is still the same shit.

The only reason these corporates are taking an interest in football is because they think it is the next big thing and we are not taking advantage of it. No wonder Pepsi skipped us and went to cricket. Once another sport like Basketball or, dare I say it, American Football, make there way up in popularity and marketability then those corporates will forget football and go to the other sports.

IMG-Reliance want some IPL type masala. Sadly this is football and they took wrong call. I wish this deal between AIFF and IMG-Reliance gets cancelled.
Reliance manages TV rights of I-league. Reliance owns Mumbai Indians of IPL. Conflict of business interests if both games are played in evenings. (although viewership of I-league is 0.1% of IPL).Thats why they show football in afternoon. IMG-Reliance wants to prove that I-league is a failed and non-profitable venture and they should hold masala league.
• Looks better than the A-League trophy, I will give them that.
