Sorry kid ....always be the kid to me ...despite us all growing old on IFN
A lot of Clubs did the smart thing back in January and signed extensions with a lot of existing player's they wanted to hold onto. ..
Thus they just have to loan them to IsL and get 50% back and also keep the players
With new signings IMG had threatened players who's contract ran out on May 31st that they won't be allowed in ISL if they sign new deals at I-League Clubs.
Smart money is to sign new unknowns like Udanta's , Vineet Rai , etc on long term deals and Keep getting 50% each year from IMG-R
As for foreigners. ..some Clubs will only sign them for 6 months...from jan to may...this allows them to sign much more expensive players like Jorge Diaz Peyrera types.
Clubs that have GPL or Kolkata league will opt for a slightly different strategy
Comments
but in meantime do some reading on Southampton's " Black box "
Eg.

This will give you an idea that its not just Westwood who makes the signings but the " Indian Think-tank"
