Well @gaffertape atleast he will select best 11 for our NT given our limited resources. He was able to keep MFC in the top flight with a very tight budget. This warrants atleast a nomination for the NT job. Also Derrick Pereira for his experience. Also, talking about professionalism, we are having a NT coach who prefers watching English football, never comes to watch Indian players play in the league, selects players like passi, narzary who struggle to find places in any I league team.
i dont understand people in forum... if you think Khalid can get us enough points, then sanjoy sen should bring us Asian title given he almost defended i-league title if not for the i-league ban...
Being MFC fan for enough time, i can say Khalid is too negative minded as far as football goes to ever get a top job in the league forget about national team..
If you want indian then lets go for someone who had shown positive results in the sport so far
@shankar Bhai, you getting us wrong. MFC would have long gone from I-League bar Khalid's "negetive" mentality. It's a fact, proven over several seasons including the current one. He is clear in what he wants, to survive. The NT on other hand is ranked 162 and is fast tracking towards the magic number of 200. We need a survival specialist so we can atleast stay around 150s. Not loose matches against Guam, Turkmenistan Nepal Bangladesh Bhutan (soon soon) Afghanistan etc. Our current footballers are shit even the next gen is semi shit. So till the time Nicolai's boys come up the ranks we must survive the darkest period of Indian football.
@goalkeeper it is ghost of Balewadi and has lost its power since MFC moved to cooperage... and I might have grown hating Khalid for his playing style despite being a MFC fan...
And also he looks like manager who is made for club football... I don't think he can get a defensive performance from team in 1-2 week sessions.. if you expect him to get the defensive stability for NT in 1-2 week I doubt he might surprise may in not so good way
What ever he maybe but he is many time better then Constantine he knows and follows Indian football unlike Constantine who follows English and American 3rd tier football and realises on venkey for team selection.
One only has to see what happened with Sandip Nandy, Clifford Miranda , Syed Nabi and Arata this season to know that Khalid Jamil has zero man management skills when it comes to senior professionals
Discussing a guy who will struggle to get a job outside of Mumbai FC for the National team is pointless
