The Packers work in a way that works, with over 300,000 shareholders who all have a unanimous voice over what happens with the team. They also have a president who basically acts as the "owner" but with the job title "CEO" or "General Manager".
There shares could technically still be bought out to become majority owned but they have bills in place to prevent that... thus the luxary of being a sports team in the smallest market in the NFL.
@munna Mohun Bagan is sponsored by the United Spirits group (under which mc Dowell). Vijaya Malya sold his U.S. Wing. He still retains the the UB group(Kingfisher)(United. Breweries) which sponsors East Bengal.
@rohan Elections are going to be held this March. But the current officials as of now are going to be reelected unopposed sadly. The recently released voters list contains names only of their followers.
And the voters are most likely a bunch of oldies who still live in the stone age whereas the Packers voters are literally the entire Green Bay area! Every one who is old enough practically has a vote.
Mohun Bagan football team is a separate legal entity from the Mohun Bagan Atheltic Club. The McDowell Mohun Bagan Football Team pvt ltd. has its board of directors and the majority stake holders are Diageo Group. They can terminate the contract and go with another investor, of course provided all leagalities are taken care of and the resolution passed by the Mohun Bagan AC general body.
P.S. The same funda applicable in EB, just that the football team is owned by United Breweries Group, i.e. Mr. Malaya
