Coaches don't mind, no need to feel sorry for them....

I'm trying to get 3 foreign coaches for the "deadly duo's" short-list...

Here's what we told them: take a big chunk of the promised salary upfront , if they sack you half way , you walk away with a nice amount for 3-4 months and find a new club later.
Steve Darby made a king's ransom in his brief time here :))

Cudn't have agreed with u more on this!

Forget about the coaches - here even some of the officials unofficially double up as a player's agent -and mint money!  The recruitment of Diamondstar is a classic case...and the fucking official who was "instrumental" in getting him, has made a significant chunk through this deal.

Its really sad that it happens in an "institution" like MB - Asia's oldest club. There was a time about a couple of decade back, when players used to turn out for MB for its sheer heritage, even by foregoing lucrative deal offered by other clubs. They used to don MB colors on the request of club officials solely. Am not saying that they should do that even now also, as the game in India has certainly become more professional and players also - but am talking about the credibility of the officials which they had. A club of the stature of MB has to have more credible/transparent officials and need to be HONEST AND ACCOUNTABLE in their approach....
  • @Soccerlover Diamondstar is the best foreigner in India, not even you can deny that.

Coaching Arrows is different and M.B is different. It is a huge jump for him but he should be ready for face certain realities and pressure which even A-League clubs dont offer.

And its sad if he leaves Arrows/India U-23 post,he made a huge difference there, maybe his assistant will takeover the post.

If he clicks with MB, good. But I think he is not taking the right decision. He had an opportunity to become part of a legacy, like Bob Houghton is part of the Swedish football legacy. MB is no Arrows. He was gagged for one post on FB by AIFF and he was furious, at MB it will be worse. When he will be slammed for each and every bad result, will be asked to play one particular player than the other or even this formation than that, he will be frustrated

Coaching an age group team and coaching a big team with big stars, big egos & most importently a club with big fan base with even biger expectation is alltogether fully diferent propogition.

  • I dont thnik he would take up this job....not because of the current state of affair in MB, but b'coz after he came to India he has been handling a sort of junior team. These guys come with lot of preparation/homework and he wouldn't be fool enough to coach a club which doesn't have a balanced team(and hence he cannot produce the desired result) and thereby spoil his reputation which he has earned in his short stay in India. I can only see Bhattarcharya making yet another comeback...
