Also, one more thing which is obvious but has got lost in translation is that 11:30 sec is now our National Record. So,Dutee has broken and bettered National record twice in 2-3 months. This is our Improvement w.r.t Athletics.Similarily in 400m men ,our National Record has been broken twice in 2months.So,I am hoping more qualifications are coming from Athletics.
Apparently there was no qualification criteria introduced during those days. So Dutee Chand is the first to qualify ever since qualification was introduced

@Bad ;; Norman Pritchard ran in 100 meters besides various other events in 1900 Olympics. He was Anglo indian and participated as British India as India was not independent.
Anglo Indian community left India in numbers by 1960s. So there contribution in Indian Sports is very much forgotten. only few names like Leslie Claudius (Hockey) are remembered.
Purma Banerjee ran in 1920 Olympics in 100 meter.
This is the entire India delegation at 1920 Antwerp Olympics.
Two more anglo indians James Hall and Wilfred Hildreth participated in 100 meter race in 1924 and 1928 Olympics for India.
Mommad Anas,Take a bow!!!Two National Records in two days.He is creating National Records whenever he runs.He and Arokia Rajiv(400m) have now broken and bettered National 3 times in 3 months where as previous to that it was held for 12 years and prior to that it was held for 50 years.
We have now reached the magical mark of 100.
More quotas and more event Qualifications are expected.
Dutee improves her own timing and thereby creates another National Record of 11:24 sec. With this sought of time, she can qualify for semi-finals at Rio.
