And? The Indian Super League is a mega product which will gain so many viewers while barely anyone knows who the teams are in the Federation Cup. Is it really worth it for STAR Sports to telecast the Federation Cup, spend a lot of money on production and ads and then get nothing in return?
When AIFF / IMG signed up for TV Rights with Ten Sports/Ten Action, I think that it covers I-League, Federation Cup and International Friendlies. When IMG and Ten Sports are not interested, then AIFF requests DD Sports. STAR has nothing to do with Federation Cup.
So far no news on TV telecast then it seems for Fed cup, hope Ten telecasts it.
P.S. Jalsha Movies ( a Star network channel) is providing fantastic coverage of Calcutta Premier League since last season. The packaging is actually better than ISL and does not feel like you are watching some one-off picnic match.
I don't think the packaging of CFL is better than ISL. They used more cameras than TEN that's all. Shitty, boring Bengali commentary and an irritating character called "GULE DA" made it worse. Promotional events, advertisements were good compared to previous editions of CFL.
lol..we are going off topic here, but then I loved "Gule Da" and its better than watching Bollywood folks pretending to give a rats' backside for football
