"USFC, having qualified for the I-League within just two years of its overhauling is in itself a big achievement. We are still at a very nascent stage, so people should not be judgmental on the team performance. Rather they should come and simply enjoy the game and give the players the morale boost”, he added"
That to me was the best quote in the article and it kind of hits me about how I have been talking about USFC and how other look at them as well. Actually I read an article yesterday about how the Dortmund chairmen wont allow any foreign (rich, Qatari) come in to take over. He, like some fans, does not like the idea of fast money because that wont really help. Look at Malaga in La Liga and how there Qatari owner wont fund them. Not everyone is like Manchester City or Chelsea.
That is actually part of the reason why I dont want Dodsal; why I dont want this 600-crore IMG League. Its because those two things focus on fast progression and fast money which, with a glance, it is good but most of the time it is not. How would pushing gillions of dollars into Indian football work, how would pushing oldies into the league work. What if the owners or benefactors who are giving the money give up interest.
Look at the current examples. SRK should have signed with Dempo months ago. USFC is going sponsor by sponsor. Even Pune FC is struggling and they have the best format in India! The two Kolkata clubs once known as East Bengal and Mohun Bagan now have to live in the name of beers like Kingfisher and McDowells just to stay alive. I feel that if EB and MB lose them then they are gone, nadda, like they never existed.
I have no idea why I just typed all this, I saw the quote in the article and had to say this. Just be patient, dont go for easy money covered in smelly oil.
