My colleagues inform me that some of you would like more information about Fateh Hyderabad AFC and also suggested I take a look at the comments being put forth in your forum. I apologise if we have neglected fb and twitter, and other mediums.
I was also informed that one of you asked "who are these jokers." Well, the joker is here. Please do post any questions you have, or comments, and I or someone from our staff will do their best to consider and answer them. We are a small club that is approachable and open to feedback.
We do love to laugh here at Fateh Hyderabad. If we don't have a sense of humour, Indian football will become insufferable as many of you know.
I have read some of the comments; many are quite harsh. Many are also based on misinformation and opinion, not facts. I have no problem with the criticisms being levelled. However, I would humbly request that you identify yourself, stand up for your words, and offer us an opportunity to share our view and why we take/took certain decisions. If you do not agree with us that is absolutely your prerogative and we wish not disturb your fan forum. But we do wish that you debate based upon facts and we will share them provided they are not confidential details.
If you would like to send me a personal e-mail, please do at [email protected] and I will endeavour to answer as swiftly as possible. However, since I am putting myself out there, in order to to receive a response, please put your name phone number and other contact details.
For those who offered words of support, on behalf of all my staff and players who wake many a day at 5am and work so hard in the mud to make this club something special for me, I thank you sincerely. We need as much encouragement as we can get.
Finally, I would like to say that all the stuff levelled at the AIFF and I-League I read is very unfair more often than not and sounds like inexperienced commentary. I am not saying mistakes are not made and criticism isn't necessary. We all make errors. But those of us who are in it, know the realities of the challenge. Administrating and organising football is an extremely difficult task in India for many reasons.
Really? An id is now asking for phone numbers and email ids? Fateh Hyderabad has all our support and may it bring the good city back to the footballing map of India.
If you are in fact who you claim you are, get someone from the club to post your short term goals. What do you want to achieve in next 2-3 years? If you just want grassroots development why not adopt the current Pune FC model? Why have a senior team at the moment? How do you plan to bring crowds to watch football? Why are you absent in social media? What is your status on infrastructure? Why the owner needs a coaching license for better understanding of running a football club, can you quote some successful examples?
Not trying to be harsh but these are some genuine questions.
P.s. This is an online forum and members have full rights to remain anonymous and criticize the footballing affairs of the nation, sadly lead by AIFF.
I did not request your ids and phone numbers. That is a choice if you choose to e-mail me and want a response. I have encouraged you all to show courage for your words. That is a value that we teach at our football club. Stand by your words. Don't hide behind them. However, due to your enthusiasm I will answer.
1. As far as the next few years, we are working diligently to commence our grassroots program. This will be more revealing when it concerns our footballing philosophy; though I have shared quite a bit on this already. You can refer to my twitter feed @yamurya18
2. We are focused on building our own infrastructure. That means our training facilities on land we are purchasing. We intend to be training on our own ground(s) in 6-8 months time.
3. We believe the pro game is an opportunity we should not pass up, especially given our city, and the 2nd division structure and investment affordability. The pro team, as I have stated in earlier media engagements, is important for relevance and creating a football culture within our club and eventually city. We want to be a football club that eventually functions from grassroots all the way to the top team.
4. Pune FC has their own reasons for going in their direction and I respect it. They went through a period of investing far more than us, and I can understand their views. Getting promoted is not always a great idea as it does not include a huge share of some big TV deal. If you get promoted you spend more…it is that simple and you need to be prepared for that. We want to be promoted when we feel the conditions are right for us. The 2nd division, conducted home and away this year has been an excellent opportunity, and I believe the value for the investment is worth it. I hope more teams participate. I add that we endured the most difficult and expensive travel schedule of any of the teams; but I did not start using it as an excuse, or dry up our funding. We have funded it, and will continue to support this home and away format. The federation has done an excellent job so far and worked very hard to conduct this league.
5. We are going slow and organically. We did very little promotion, and we ended up with far more people than came to matches against some of our opponents. We will continue to give this attention but not by spending huge amounts on advertising. This would not be a good use of our resources at this time.
6. We have setup twitter and fb accounts and have been more active than absent. As we develop, more content and posts will be offered.
7. I enjoy coaching. As far as why the licenses, they are required by the I-League in order to coach at certain levels. And I enjoy doing the courses. I have met many many wonderful coaches in India and abroad and it is like any other professional course where you can learn and improve, and meet people. As far as my ability and the success, I leave that to my colleagues across the league and the players to judge. It is a different model, yes; but then again, my partner and I are investing our own money so not asking someone else to pay for our lessons.
Our games were all competitive and if anyone witnessed them, they would have seen the level of determination it took from the opposing clubs to defeat us. Respectfully, we were not taken lightly by anyone. Only one game we played was disappointing from our perspective as far as our commitment and effort, but we played it without key players due to injury and suspension as well.
All the teams in our division played their state leagues before the competition. We did not have that opportunity. It was the first eight games of our existence. All things considered, we have competed and could have easily drawn both games against the top team in the group. The league is very competitive and the scores one week do not predict what can happen the next week.
