And u think IMG is worried about the indian calendar??? Don't say its aiff's call as we all know they will rubber stamp IMG wish. If merger had to happen next year, it would have been clear by now. IMG is just buying time to somehow get mb/eb/bfc into an unrecognized tournament, domestic calendar can go to hell for all they care. U think Sunder Raman the CEO (made famous by Mr Mudgal) even can name all ileague sides?

In a recognised league, all clubs will have to pass regulations. Then in the merged league, ISL franchises will not be eligible to compete :)

How do you know that exactly? Maybe not if they were forced to follow them now but given till next season I am sure they can do it

IMG-Reliance have submitted a new plan for the proposed merger of the I-League and the cash rich extravaganza…

IMG-Reliance the organizers of the cash rich Indian Super League (ISL) have proposed a new plan to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) for the proposed merger of the I-League and the on-going annual event.

As per the plans, the new unified league under the banner of the ISL would be open to all clubs including current franchises and existing I-League clubs. Entry to the top league will be based on budgetary constraints and each club must be able to allocate an annual budget of ₹ 40-50Cr which includes a franchise fee.

If the leagues do not merge next year, which is likely, then as usual it will start in September and finish in March (7-month league) followed by a Super Cup .

What will happen to the existing I League then?

It means if it doesn't start in 2017 November

It will start in 2018 September

It is best for all the I-league clubs to walk out and form new association instead of playing under.

Still I don't understand why AFC Licencee clubs to go under IMG and pay franchise fee and play.

Let ISL clubs come under AIFF and satisfy AFC Club criteria and play in unified league if they want to develop Indian football instead paying franchise fee to private vendor -IMG.

Let IMG handle only marketing and television rights and not fucking merger plan. Merger plan should be handled by AIFF. Let AIFF decide and make new unified league as Separate entity and let it be managed by Clubs and AIFF as per AFC guidelines.

Why in this world you need to give cash to IMG when there is less return on investment. This is not going to happen and shouldn't happen just because IMG wants. IMG can propose the plan, But AIFF and I-league clubs should present above mentioned plan and get rid of Aunty. Let the real football nation take a birth instead of Aunty's baby.
