even though there is drop in spectator for cricket, it is still popular game enough to hit football matches viewership besides playing in april/ may in scorching heat aint good idea
@shanks_dehighliving We were not talking about avoiding IPL in terms of time of day... yes, we should avoid playing ISL at the same time of day as IPL but not avoid playing ISL in the same month.
Ideally the football league should not end till April at the earliest, meaning in a 7-8 month league, the league begins in September/October. This can also allow our clubs to be prime ready for Asian commitments and other international events. In April though, the IPL begins, and we have seen in Indian sport that there can be hesitation with having two franchise leagues go on at the same time, at least among the top ones. The IPL, ISL, HIL, and PKL barely overlap. Even the Premier Badminton League doesn't overlap anything. We have also seen STAR Sports be bad with their channels and use all of them on one thing for some reason. The fear is that they may not want to do both IPL and ISL in the same month if they clash, even though they could perfectly do it if they get the schedule times right and also utilize their channels properly... which will be needed if India is to be a proper sports nation.
@shanks_dehighliving Fuck, you're right. Completely forgot about that. Guess that can end in June when IPL concludes but ya, we will definitely see some overlap.
