"This is again another problem that concerns the City of Joy specifically. According to the contract penned down by the franchises, one city can have only one club playing in the ISL.
Calcutta already have Atletico de Kolkata, so where will Mohun Bagan and East Bengal fit in and what will be their home stadiums? Some have suggested that Mohun Bagan can play at the Howrah stadium and represent the city of Howrah, while East Bengal can make Kalyani their home base and the Kalyani Stadium will be their home ground.
It remains to be seen, however, whether these stadiums match the standards set by the ISL Technical Committee who need to approve of the same."
Who is making such rules that One City - One Club? Nowhere in FIFA and AFC regulations such BS is written. A Private company running an unrecognised league is making such rules??? It is AIFF which needs to make regulations regarding how to run the League in accordance with FIFA / AFC regulations. Let AIFF say One City - One Club and then we will believe.
@munna219777 Just be quiet. This rule is a league based rule and that is honestly fine. Just because it isn't a FIFA thing doesn't you have to go on another one of your "private league" rants.
Does this rule "expire" or is this a full on rule? They could potentially do what American franchise leagues do whenever a new team comes into an area where a team is already based and that is pay "compensation" for entering a market that already has a team.
Let's wait for official announcement from ISL these guys would simply create some news just for the sake of it
We all know how good Bengali media is
SRK investing in Bagan etc all these are completely rumors
These guys link each and every player with MB,EB before the start of the league and sportskeeda who write essays of our exposes (FC goa,Stephen Constantine,Pride Sports,ISL draft) are writing essays if Bengali media exposes
Don't underestimate Bengal and Bengali media...remember what Gokhale said, 'What Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow'...the rest of the country is yet to catch up with the Bengali media's strategies
