Indeed it's true that NE needs more than one representative in ISL.
But Shillong Lajong is in financial trouble and Aizawl hasn't got proper infrastructure for such a high-profile league.
We have to reorganise things here.
In Arunachal,Nagaland,I have seen the situation is worse.
All the clubs in the ISL should be given an year to cope with the AFC rules if they need it. AIFF had given exemptions many times for many teams in the past .
'Reorganize' is the key word here. In governmenat circuits, there is a term called 'institutional capacity building'. That should be attempted here, not just joining a weak club to a corporate. That would be selling the club. The Fed should step i here, instead of selling itself to a corporate. Nowhere in the world this has happened.
But that's what never happened...
The fed(AIFF) never stepped in...
The FIFA funds that were allocated were never used wisely...
There was uneven distribution...
As example,Mizoram has now 6 artificial turfs built with the fund...
But Nagaland-ZERO artificial traing turfs installed.
Since ISL won't remain closed for long...
IMG-R will have to realise that clubs like Aizawl can make their way to top...
That will instill them to improve and "reorganize" things in NE.
