there is every possibility that Aizawl fc may feature in the next edition of isl in case the aiff decide to make isl the top league- Robert Romawia President Aizawl fc
Issue is not performance, but ownership of the club, and to play the emotions of the fans.
First things first. Aizawl FC has to be sold to a corporate. The present owners do not have the wherewithals to compete with the money power of I-league clubs, let alone ISL. So they must part ways, however passionate they are about developing local football.
If this is agreeable, then we move to the next patrs ...
My question is why do we always talk about budget of ISL?.. Why does every team has to spend the same amount? There can be some basic criteria like infra, promotions etc. But whether I will spend 40 cr or 4 cr on plyr salaries that's my business, how can the league dictate that?
A valid question. I think this is to ensure good marketing and extending good facilities to the players. Plus making them able to sign good foreigners. A part of all these flows back to FSDL kitty as commission. So ...
Let me be honest.
SINCE I AM FROM NORTH-EAST,NOBODY CAN EXPLAIN IT BETTER THAN ME.
Inclusion of more clubs from North-East is going to benefit ISL(with business perpsective).
Most of the North-Eastern people are crazy football fans.
At the same time, they are financially rich.
My friends here spend more than 10,000 rupees in a go at some local Dhaba.
They don't wear anything that isn't branded[Adidas,Nike,etc.]
Now Imagine each state captial having an ISL team....
Tickets can be sold at expensive rates.
Include team merchandises(jerseys,scarfs,etc.)
Even during ISL,NEUFC match tickets are sold at as much as 8,000 in black.
NORTH-EAST IS A HUGE,HUGE MARKET FOR FOOTBALL AND ANY CLUB WHO CAN TAP THIS REGION CAN EARN HUGE.
There needs to be professionalism and better players though...unlike ISL.
