Lets stop calling it a merger like IMG wants the world to believe. To make it credible IMG will somehow incorporate 1-2 teams from national league in my opinion.

It is take over of the national league by a corporate. Not merger, not unification, not anything else sounding sweeter.

So a 8 team Top tier next season or we will see Aunty's relatives buying teams from Hyderabad and Ahmedabad and making a 10 team league while BFC/MB/EB are forced to play league 1.

Top Tier is only in name. They will have same characteristics. Daily matches, Fake Owners, Semi-retired Foreigners, Operating from Hotels. One private company operates league, owns all clubs in one way or the other and all fake owners are employees of that company only. Somehow AIFF will grant them temporary AFC criteria with false promises but this shows FIFA / AFC are blind.

Why will Ganguly compete with MB, EB in Calcutta?? Why will IMG-R take I-League clubs which they do not own clandestinely? Why are I-league clubs desperate to play in the top/fake league? Please think from their perspective also. IMG-R is not doing any charity. They have to make money too.

For I-League teams , National team players, actually it is a good news. Their players will not have to feature in 2 leagues, Second Tier will represent India in AFC Cup. Second Tier should now demand proper TV revenue deal from AIFF.

Fans and players can choose - what they wish to see or play for.

The final  call will be made by FDSL and bunch of cricket guys like Sundar Raman
If they want EB MB BFC Aizawl out unless FIFA does something nothing  can stop it

Ambani's are too strong for any legal action to be taken against  them

@mohammed_87hassan    EB MB BFC Aizawl Out? When were they "in" the ISL? This is just the name change of the leagues. What legal actions can one take when they have the right to deny any outsider club in their league?
They own the league, they own the franchises, they own the AIFF, they make the rules.
Only BFC had the faint chance provided they give away their control to IMG-R which I doubt.
Many unanswered questions are there like Domestic Calendar???
Top Tier will start and finish before January Transfer window so that Top Tier can loan back their Indian players to Second Tier clubs ???
Second and Third Tier will start from January only. If they all start at the same time, there is going to be shortage of Indian players.

Munna I don't  think  their would be any shortage of players

One big example is Chennai senior divisions  many ex I-League players like Tuboi or Former Nt players like Np.Pradip are playing here for probably small salaries

Such players end up playing for multiple leagues a year's  because  their is no stable employment.
