What will most likely happen is what usually happens. We will have the same shit next year with the AFC pushing us to get one league while the AIFF/FSDL say they will do something. Then, in the end, probably around June/July 2018, an announcement will come out that due to the ISL becoming a 7 month league now (which was "proposed" for the season after the U17 World Cup) the AFC decided to give the AIFF one more year.
The next year ISL would probably once again expand to 12 teams while the I-League might be "weak enough" to "relegate" to 2nd tier while the victory of Aizawl would be long forgotten.
