Agree with 2 and 3 but what is going on in #1? Nordy and Quero in the Championship? Nordy could probably hack it in the A-League but that is League One at best.
I-League vs IS never ending debate. Loving every piece of it but its got boring now...Let's not be cynical and understand quality of foreign players is far better in ISl and in I-League- no need to argue on that, if you are arguing means you put a blind fold to your eye..& truly what do you guys think, European top players are going to come to ISL or what..even if India had a full league for an entire season and had the entire money of thw world, it would still have been impossible to get the best players of the world to play in an Asian League in their prime...A Japan/Australia/Korea/China would have done that by now if at all possible. Think about it, Asia is at a much lower level in world football, though its slowly closing the gap. even if it did, how many Europeans go ahead to play in South America?? Isnt it mostly the other way round?? Football is too much of a religion in Europe for players to think outside their continent unless they have or are at the end of their prime.
On the other hand, it is also true that ISL is not at all a proper league and that's where it fails drastically. Apart from that, considering 3 years into business, and all newly formed franchises (in older footballing terms probably clubs), they are not doing that bad and they are doing their bit in youth football (atleast even if eye washers, they have atleast given this a go).
Not all I-league clubs would boast of this. But I-league clubs are an entity, they have much better structure in terms of club house, supporters etc.
Well what I am saying has already been said by multiple persons here. However it comes, it would be much better to see 1 league which runs for atleast 6-7 months. I-league would have been so much popular if AIFF atleast had some brains, we would not have been in a position where we are in.
Hume went to Tranmere played 12 matches in between two seasons of ISL..now he is in Spanish 2nd division ..played 3 matches...Malouda is currently playing in Egyptian premier league , scoring 3 in 9 apps...Pity them , who think ISL is a retirement league....
And Mil Chol Son in Championship ... youve gt to be kidding me... The guy mostly played in japanese 4th and 5 th division , and then joined I league... Championship is way out of his league.. Norde will find it tough in League one itself, Quero has mostly played in Spanish 2nd div...but for last 4 -5 years he has been roaming around in Asian,Bolivian , Maltese and Spanish 3rd division leagues, forget about Championship.
If guys like Joey Barton , Emiley Heskey , Bobby Zamora can play in Championship, its a piece of cake for Malouda. There's a reason why you wont see guys like Malouda playing for a lower division team from a same league structure.
Malouda can't get into Championship? Haha. Another joke for today. Damn. This is getting so entertaining. After a long day at work, IFN is a gr8 place to relax for a football fan. On a serious note, please be realistic. Malouda is a fantastic talent. As it is, marquee players are here to share their experience. No top player will ever come. As someone pointed out, if top players were interested in coming to Asia in their prime, they would have done that long ago with Saudi, Australian and Japanese clubs being at the forefront. Things are changing with China being at helm. Malouda who provided highest assists last season played well IMO. Obviously, they are not fast. But, what were you expecting.
Why is Sunil part of this meeting which is mostly Management Gyan? Feels we give too much importance to him on the part of mergers, NT & League structure and all... Maybe grooming him to be the next BB?
And why are BB and Yadav are there? BB I can understand, but Yadav is just the head spotter. Should he be involved in the structural management issues?
And why are everything 'under the wraps'? Can't we have some transparency here? In the end, they are going to chop off 6 I-league clubs, but we need to know the reasons too. We did not know AIFF is engaged with IMG-R over this (which they should be). Should we not know IMG-R's stand as well? Indian football is not their personal property, ISL may be.

Mendoza is a genuine talent
Quero is too small for the Championship , but will do well in ISL3
