BHETKI PATURI (mustard fish in a banana leaf ) steamed preparation of bhetki fish ( or barramundi or Asian sea bass ) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barramundi really good to have . dont know the price exactly but should be arround 150-200
@Deb_Ban There is a Burma Bazaar in Chennai. As Indians were expelled from Burma in I think 1960s, returning Tamil Refugees settled here and brought a taste and culture of their homeland with them. Rangoon used to be Indian dominated city with Bengali, Tamil, Marwari majority population.
@DX: Great stuff! There is a lot of similarity between South Indian and Bengali food, I think. Rice is the staple food in both the regions and the dishes tend to be on the spicier side with a lot of gravy. The payasam, known as payesh (kheer in Hindi) is very popular in Bengal. And munna, you are inspiring all of us here, like Tennyson's Ulysses, to 'follow knowledge like a sinking star/Beyond the utmost bound of human thought'.
