Why 7th. Sep? What is so special about this date ? Can Utpal babu tell ? Is he holding the IFA Secretary's chair to conduct the League or just to ensure that one particular club has all their I-League Super Stars available when they play Mohun Bagan?
Why he could not arrange Mohun Bagan ground or RS Stadium ? Why Kalyani ?
Why he was sleeping like Kumbhakarna till Mohun Bagan raised the safety issue of the temporary gallery ? Yesterday in a live programme in Zeal tv (8-00pm) he was telling with conviction that PWD Fit Certificate & Police Green Signal about the temporary galleries would be obtained on Monday & Mohun Bagan would be informed accordingly. Did he plan to manage the things ? Unfortunately he has thoroughly mismanaged everything.
Sorry Utpal...after the recent Fly over tragedy PWD Engineers would never fall in any sort of trap.
It is time you vacate the chair of IFA Secretary.

Kolkata: The “Derby Drama” continues with Mohun Bagan still sticking on their decision of not playing the derby in Kalyani stadium on the 7th September, 2016 citing ticket issues and their players will not get proper training schedule ahead of the big match in Kalyani.

Today, Mohun Bagan officials Debashis Dutta and Srinjoy Basu addressed the press in the evening at the club tent just few hours after the PWD department did not give the NOC to Kalyani stadium as the temporary gallery did not look safe at all.

Debashis Dutta said, “Our list of members have extended up to 6400. As the number of tickets distributed around will be 7500, it will be a loss to both the clubs according to ticket distribution as the no.of tickets will be reduced to 2000 in number.”

Regarding training schedule, Debashis added, “Our players are new to Kalyani turf so they need at least 48 hours of training on that turf before getting down on the match day. This is not our decision. We have come to this decision discussing with our coach and technical committee members.”

In that case, Mohun Bagan will be ready to play either by 9th or 10th September. If the tickets will be 2000 per club as per membership, then tickets for sale will be not be distributed.”

IFA secretary Utpal Ganguly had a confidential meeting with the Mohun Bagan president Tutu Basu where he had requested Tutu Basu not to make an issue of the replay match as IFA will provide the replay match to the Mariners.

IFA secretary has also promised Bagan President that IFA will make sure that Mohun Bagan get 48 hours of training ahead of the match on the Kalyani turf. The SMS sent between the two officials were forwarded to all the media personals present in the club.

Meanwhile, East Bengal official Debabrata Sarkar stick to his old decision of not participating in the derby after 7th September. He said, “We will not play after 7th. We will play as per the schedule and not give priority to anybody’s personal interest.”

On the other hand, IFA secretary said, “Mohun Bagan made a false allegation on me. I will speak on this tomorrow addressing the press. Till now, the derby is on and will held on 7th.”

MB is always more interested not to play than play. I doubt if it is really a sports club.

Your doubt is correct they are not a sport club but a Athletic club.

  • It has always been so, since the time Utpal took over.

Even the PWD rejected the makeshift arrangement.
So, the question is why was he taking such big risk to stage a big match in a makeshift arrangement ?
What his his interest? Was it commercial?(his business interests - as the key sponsors r his brand)?
Is he so naive to understand that one cannot stage a Derby in a makeshift arrangement?
As per IFA rule, any match which would be replayed has to be organised within 7 days (thats not Bagan's rule btw!). Therefore why does he have to bend his own rule (by not organising the replay of Bagan vs Tolly within 7 days) and instead is so "passionate" to hold this match on 7th - whats his interest level on this????

#Breaking: IFA re-confirms yet again that it won't be possible to postpone the #KolkataDerby. The scheduled date will be 7th September only.

Next act of the drama, please!

@Soccerlover Everybody knows his intention. Some are posing as if they don't know.
All Good or Bad things must come to an end finally. Over the years what is happening in CFL is not unknown to all of us but one day somebody has to stand up & say enough is enough. Mohun Bagan Management has exactly done this...& this caused problems to some.
Surprising to note that nobody is saying a word about the temporary gallery......if Mohun Bagan officials had not raised the issue.....IFA would have been sleeping & a tragedy would have taken place.
Btw..if Utpal & co were sure about holding the Derby on 7th. then what prevented sale of tickets ? Till 6th. night neither did they sell a single ticket nor sent any to the Clubs.
Duplicacy at its height by Utpal & Co.
