deepakc I am sorry to say this, but your comments show how little (or no) idea you have about Kolkata football. That's not your fault, but then don't try to show that you are an expert of the same.
When did I claim to be an expert on Kolkata...i am saying it as an outsider...who feels a well planned state calendar can be as big as I league 2....certainly by far the most revenue generating state league....(which it still might be but there's sos o much more potential)...
Don't understand IFA's obsession or logic for Kalyani.....if they are happy to organize the Derby with 16k crowd & then 7.5k crowd then they could have negotiated with Kolkata Police & organized the match at Mohun Bagan Ground with 16k crowd. But no......Kalyani seemed as the only Venue for them. It is as if that they wanted Kolkata Police to say that 22-23k crowd at the Mohun Bagan Ground would be un-manageable so that they could select Kalyani. Also there is possibility that because of Eid on Monday Police may not allow the MSC v EB match on Sunday, if that happens it would be interesting to see what IFA does.
Even if we accept the current MB officials are shit, the issues they have raised are pertinent. The issues: - Give the replay within the time frame mentioned in the rules (whether IFA did the right thing to accept the replay is a different question) - Being adamant on the derby date (may be IFA are hand-tied about the compact schedule, but then some spillover factor should have been built in the schedule) - Allow some practice sessions on the turf before the match - The safety issue in Kalyani (With so many emotionally charged people congregating, anything can be expected. Remember the conditions of that hapless Mohammedan Sporting fan who fell from the stands a decade ago and still living bed-ridden, half-paralysed and with bed-sore.Much worse can happen. The authorities rightly did not give safety certificate.
I believe these are issues which concerns both the parties, at least, the last one. It is not only MB's fight. So instead of sitting smugly at the back and taking pot shots at the opponent only increases the suspicion of them being in some covert understanding with IFA.

East Bengal have been awarded the three points by way of a forfeit...
The Calcutta Football League’s Kolkata Derby scheduled for today has been cancelled. East Bengal have been awarded the three points by way of a forfeit after Mohun Bagan refused to play.
Bagan had earlier made clear their standof refusing to play the game and made good of their promise earlier today after the team failed to show up at Kalyani Stadium.
The East Bengal players reached the ground on time and had a warm-up session as per schedule. The Red and Gold supporters gathered in numbers knowing the circumstances they would face.
After waiting for half an hour, the match officials and commissioner called off the match following talks with East Bengal captain Arnab Mondal. Their attempts to reach the Mariners for confirmation of their stance proved futile.
EB’s South Korean striker Do-Dong-Hyun smiled and said, "If the match was played I would have scored goals again and would have been awarded the Man of the Match like the previous two derbies. But it’s unfortunate that they did not turn up.”
Skipper Mondal added, "This is not a good advertisement for Kolkata football or rather Indian football. This is unexpected. Nobody has the right to play with the emotions of so many supporters. These two clubs are fan-centric clubs."
