If that is the case , say it is 6 months old pic as this pic posted around 2015 oct this project is nearly getting to final phase. Some one from Gujrat can confirm it. I doubt any one in this forum fm gujrat
We have some members from Gujarat here who has earlier commnted on the status. It is not only a stadium-it has Hotel, Convention Center, Cinema Hall, shops also. BFC wanted to develop Bangalore Football Stadium also on this model but then giving Government land to Private Businessman attracts corruption scuitiny. Transtadia also has Gujarat High Court hearings but I expect them to continue on this project. We should also note that no Sports events are organised in Gujarat-so they have no timeline pressure. Other states have National Games or such events. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/ahmedabad/Court-notices-to-govt-firm-over-Kankaria-sports-complex/articleshow/49345455.cms
I live 200km from Ahmedabad. I visited the area 6 months ago. By the looks, it didn't seem like to be completing this year. And I can't see the meaning in having a football stadium in Ahmedabad. Football isn't big in Gujarat.
@EastBengalPride ; I dont think FIFA ever visited this venue nor they will have this incomplete stadium as backup. It is not necessarily Football-such venues in big city like Ahmedabad is good for cultural and commercial events. It will have movie hall, hotel, shops, restaurants, convention center. Rental of such private venues is so high that AIFF also do not host any football matches. Look what happened in Trivanrum Stadium case? India Turkmenistan match was ultimately held at JLN Cochin.
munna219777 yesterday I saw a malayalam Film Award night in TV which was held in Green field TVM, I think only Filmy events can afford the rent in green field.
@shibier xcheck some recent photos posted on the the official FB page on Bengali new year. You can clearly see more areas of the gallery now have bucket seats than what it was a month ago.
