Let them finish it. I dont think they will spend money at installing lights if luminous intensity is not enough. The height of towers seems to be good enough.

SCG should really see if orange bucket seats can be installed!!! Perfect....duler & ground used by salgaocar this year are the way forward!!! All these clubs have great local political influence...if only Big 3 each could get similar mini stadia in Kolkata for non derby...important thing is that the dressing room etc should be good enough for Afc....mumbai is doing something similar with Andheri sports complex..hopefully MFC will use itg this season....

Bucket seats -- Orange or other flavour-- are the last in SCG's agenda, at least for now. Survival is in the mind.

"We have taken nine months to get this redeveloped. When we started it was a slushy, muddy ground. However, now, we have probably Maharashtra's first natural turf dedicated to football. The ground is playable in monsoons as well. We have retrofitted it with perpendicular drainage pipes that facilitates quick drainage of water."

Shri Uddhav Thackeray's elder son continued, "At present we have 2000 bucket seats installed, which will be used primarily as VIP seating enclosures. I have a complete corner of the ground available with me to convert into a high capacity stand. We expect it to host 20000-to-25000 fans."

THe fact that he is at position go significance at MDFA and tweets about Mumbai football and MFC showed his initial interest in the game...
the stadium is not expected to have the feel of cooperage like stadium where pitch right clost to the stands

Now with this in context.. things could turn very interesting in both ISL and I-league.. will both teams play in the stadium or only one shall get chance.. Interesting things happening in indian football...

WIFA owns Cooperage Stadium. On the other hand, it is BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) who owns Andheri Stadium.
Andheri Stadium is good for all Film Stars Charity matches and private functions as it is close to where most people live.
    1) Why will WIFA organise there matches at Andheri Stadium and pay rental to BMC when they have their own stadium where they do not pay any rent?
    2) Why will Mumbai City FC play at Andheris which has half of the capacity of D Y Patil Stadium?
    3) Anyone has seen the shape of the stadium. Semi-elliptical with wall on one side. It suits Filmfare awards night more then any international Football.

The location of the stadium means they can charge thrice the ticket price and get fans provided they keep having one player at the level of anelka..... in that case they can get the profit..

As far as stadium goes i heard the stands are going under heavy changes.. Also why should WIFA pay for match? it is always paid by the football club/ franchise... so will it matter if they pay to WIFA or BMC? May be if they are lucky they can actually get this stadium on lease for few years and dont need to worry about the fees..

Given the legal issues around cooperage, for a footballing body, it is more benificial in investing in Andheri sports complex rather than cooperage...

As far as fan experience goes, cooperage kind of environment shall be not possible but the fans are more at DY Patil where the experience is stale compares to cooperage where the fan experience is much better...

For the clubs to attract more dedicated fan base the location of stadium shall play major role as it is comparitively closer to both central and western crowd along with Harbour people having local trains halting at andheri too
