@Siv This idea can only happen as chettri said if we go to one game per week for a team. If they play games every 3 days. Then the reserve game the next day will jeopardize the logistics. Games are too close as of now.
Even reserve team players need recovery. Our players are getting abused. They should speak out.
Super cup was there to provide game time for players. AIFF cancelled that. ISL franchise could have played that tournament with indian players. But they want to close their shop as early as possible.
There are positive signs I think . Even though we are slow in implementing it. 27 game season with a knockout cup , reduction of foreigners and Indian coaches getting the nod. Slowly but surely things are changing . Tbh I don't expect any quick changes or a miracle but I believe after 10-15 years we might have a decent football scenario .
BrainFallINDIA , problem is we have seen this in the past, when things starts to change, another big change is done by AIFF which undoes all the previous changes. So you never know what slowly changing stands for.
All these positive changes we are talking about is too late. Let's go back 8-9 years ago and check how things were -
1) 14 teams in I-league 2) 26 matches 3) Federation Cup 4) Other Cup tournaments 5) Season Duration was around 8 months(10 months if you count state leagues and invitational tournaments)
8-9 years back what AIFF were actually supposed to do was the below 1) Market the I-league well and increase revenue 2) Expand the league to 16 teams 3) H & A format for I-League 2nd division 4) Improve and change structure of Youth League(Only thing they have done not entirely though)
So basically we have destroyed what we had 10 years ago and then recreating it now with multiple delays. This has just put our growth 10 years behind other competitors from SE Asia and even Bangladesh now.
