Also it's nothing against Dempo or Goa, in particular. We all want good competition and a club with a PHILOSOPHY of its own for the football in the country to improve. What's coming out of the entire incident is if you speak up against Armando Colaco, then you are a goner. First he himself will arm twist you hard and then entire Goa will gang up against you. This entire "larger than life" figure of Armando Colaco is seriously exaggerated and he is being given much more credit than is due. Srinivas Dempo, who laid down the system but keeps a low profile and let Armando call all the shots (which he can be accused of misusing, from the recent incidents ) is never given due credit by goan fans. It's like the chicken egg story, who came first ? Had Mr. Dempo not been there, Armando Colaco would not have been today what he is. Not only that, the loyal bunch of players also deserve mention. They never questioned Armando and went about their job very loyally but unfortunately, as history has always shown, dictatorships are always short lived in spite of being successful in the short run. When Armando became Indian national coach, he started calling the shots and went to the extent of not playing a game and finally asking for five years contract. Nowhere, internationally, is such a long term contract signed with anyone the first time. Three years is the norm but Armando wants five years. Armando has his own set of rules for everything and if you don't fall in line, then the relationship no more remains a workable one. Why is this, why can't he resolve issues by discussion ? Everyone is blaming Rohan for going to the media, isn't Armando guilty of the same ? In Calcutta, when Dempo was here to play EB, after Rohan would talk, the journalists would run to Armando and he will also say something against Rohan. Is this mature behaviour from a respectable coach ? Agreed Armando doesn't tweet but he can be blamed no less for exacerbating this issue, add to that the "no hands dirty" management approach of Mr. Dempo. Anything in excess is always bad, same has been the case with too much of non interference by Mr. Dempo. When two high profile people are involved and are going at each other, the owner should intervene and resolve the entire circus that is going on, that's also not happening. On top of that goan fans are ganging up against him and abusing Rohan on a forum where medium of communication is English. Anyone interested in Indian football can google and find out this forum and is this what they are going to see ? Some ex EPL player is being treated like this by fans, what will their impression be of Indian football, forget Goan football ? In Calcutta, we also have such fools among the officials but they have no support of the fans. Fans must use their own eyes, and judge for themselves rather than taking sides of one human being portraying his "larger than life" picture. I have seen Rohan play and he is not that bad, maybe not as good as Carlos but definitely not that bad that you can't stand him in the field for even half hour. Doesn't he deserve game time and a decent chance to be able to adjust to Indian conditions ? In Calcutta, when he said that you can't adjust to conditions by not being allowed game time and running on roads, Armando shot back saying he is not being able to adapt to his system.
What is the message going to the EPL fans in India who Dempo management were
hoping to bring to their fold to add to their fan base? Off course they will be pissed to see
such narrow mindedness first from Armando and then from goan fans.
Carlos is playing for prayag and numerous requests are coming from
Australia for prayag jersey. Prayag officials in an act of good will are
sending jerseys for free. In Dempo's case, the management is staying
aloof and allowing this circus to continue. This is only giving an
impression that if you have differences with someone who has a lot of
influence in Goa, then you are a goner, and everyone will gang up
against you. I was informed of this by a bunch of folks who have played
in Goa and it's very unfortunate that once again it's proving to be
true.
Firstly, Mr. Dempo will not lower himself and enter into this petty fight. He is not like the other owners like Churchill who watches every move like a hawk. And neither does he have time for all this. Bcoz of this he wanted to close down the club. But after lot of persuation from fans he decided to continue.
Secondly, he has no other option but to depend on Colaco.
Thirdly, from inside sources,he was against signing of Rohan. Does anybody of you know the money involved in this deal!!! So he will let Colaco settle the mess himself since he was not interested in the first place.
And last but not the least, with mining stopped in Goa and Churchill out of politics, imagine a situation with no Dempo, Salgaocar or Churchill in the League. These clubs are on the edge at present. People are worried on this forum that outsiders will have bad impression abt India after reading this forum. What impression will it leave if your champion club for last so many years shuts shop.

Does rohan's tweets have any thing to do with dempo shuting shop?
@joyptan. That is additional info, going around around Goa. I should have written it seperately. But I hope you are not thinking that I have written it for fuck sake. That is a valid point and could be a reality as early as next yr, unless Supreme crt allows mining to start soon.
also if i am not mistaken dempo sold off all their goa mines business some years back..the mining ban will not affect them..i think they have a few.mines in karnataka..
salgaocar r still in mining and it might affect the team.. churchill has lost his source of governmental income but i always.wondered how he gets d.funds to run CB.
One thing .for sure dempo is horrible in marketing their team ..it has one of d worst club websites n lowest fb likes for their page ..does not remotely look like a champion club..
How come you guys know this but it is only coming into the know to outsiders now? We are still treating Churchill and Dempo as the best financially yet they are supposedly in trouble.
