Though Communism in theory is not authoritarian, during its implementation across the world it has proved to be authoritarian and causing huge loss of human lives. This is because of the human nature of leaders who always end up to be dictators whenever they try to execute such isms. So people who wants to create heaven in earth ends up causing mass murders, rapes etc and resulting in dictatorship/ authoritarianism. Take any socialist country, say Cuba you can see a lot of censorship from government and a lot of restrictions by the government on its citizens.
