Height is essential for positions like CB and striker both of which India lacks BUT We are still way behind others to have concerns over such things

What we need is to get rid of age fraud in youth levels. Ban coaches who support such stuff. Also, kids from U-14 need to play at least 40 games every year. Make a massive pool of players in youth football. Have a good league at u-19 and U-23 level. Force clubs to invest in youth football in their locality and field their Youth teams in district leagues and other club competitions.

AIFF wastes a lot of money on sending a bunch of kids to European tours (They also do it so executives can have a free holiday trip to Europe on AIFF Money) . A lot should be invested on Youth football at every level instead of wasting a meager sum on a few kids

Every Major city has 10s of Football coaching academies or hundreds of schools. Clubs and AIFF needs to get all of them involved.

But all this is never going to happen. People like Kalyan Chaubey, Haaris and Shaji are not in this for development of Football. FSDL wants money, we are falling behind Indonesia, Vietnam and Thailand and are already behind Top Asian countries.

We will never improve unless we invest in a proper structure from Youth to senior level

Regarding the issue of height, here's something I observed while living in Japan.

They put a LOT of emphasis on developing technical skills and physical fitness. In the late 80s/early 90s, authorities came to the conclusion that they were at a height disadvantage when compared to other Asian powerhouses, so they needed to work their way around it by strengthening other aspects of their game.

If you watch the J-league, you will notice that pretty much every Japanese player is good with the ball, and their technique is definitely at a higher level compared to many European leagues. The pace of games is quite slow though, and this is fixed when players sign for top Euro clubs and get used to faster, more aggressive styles of play. Of course, the average height of Japanese players have increased gradually over this time.

Our focus on height may be a tad outdated. Spain always fields one of the shortest squads in Europe, while Scandinavian teams are among the tallest. English academies used to turn away kids that were "too short for football", but ever since they revamped their grassroots issues, there has been an influx of short, skinny guys who have taken their national team to another level compared to the early 2000s.
I disagree. Countries like Spain is just an anamoly. Thats hardly 5-10% of countries. Many African countries just because of physique has much better advantage. Football is a physical game and any physical side can out muscle  other teams. 80% of all matches are won by teams with physical advantage. We are talking about exceptions which hardly matters. West Asian countries are always at advantage because of this.

Look at the number of coaches produced by Spain.
Thousands of the with UEFA A Level.

Best of them manage to reach top levels such as Luis Enrique or Pep Guardiola.
They have a wide pool of players available.

In india our pool is very narrow. We think that by just concentrating on one batch of u-17  we will play in world cup.

Yes we actually barely have only a handful of AFC A and AFC pro license coaches.

AIFF has been doing a terribly job at making any sort of improvements in these areas. And they likely won't do anything on this. They just expect everything to be perfect automatically

I also remember Rob Baan often emphasizing on developing tons of coaches because there are very little coaches in India

AIFF has a lot of things to do

Saw one video of India's best coach Rahim who said the same thing during the 60s. He said India should train coaches and produce thousands of them to be able to compete ta world level
