Format

The four nations have been placed in a common group, where they will play against each other in a round-robin format. Once every nation has played a game against the other three, the top two teams will advance to the finals of the tournament, set to be played on the 18th of June.

The teams playing are going to be ranked on the basis of points. For a win, a team will get three points, one point for a draw, and none for a loss. At the end of all the games, if two teams are tied on points, then the following criteria are to be followed.

Points in head-to-head matches among tied teams
Goal difference in head-to-head matches among tied teams
Goals scored in head-to-head matches among tied teams
Goal difference in all group matches
Goals scored in all group matches
Penalty shoot-out if only two teams are tied and they met in the last round of the group
Disciplinary points (yellow card = 1 point, red card as a result of two yellow cards = 3 points, direct red card = 3 points, yellow card followed by direct red card = 4 points)

All the matches of the 2023 Hero Intercontinental Cup will be played at the Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, India.

Telecast

The Hero Intercontinental Cup 2023 will be telecasted on the Star Sports Network. Live streaming of the games will be available on Disney+Hotstar and JioTV.
