We had players running all over for ball till end of the game,hunger on the pitch was visible.They way India tried to cut off the Lebnon attack from the mids and flanks proactively today, that too—many a times.All focus to Saff cup now,there is a feeling that few things are going right for India.
Thanks toStimac for continuously giving chances to players inform and constantly experimenting contrary to what 90% of us always felt. We now have players who are always there for backup and not wilting when one is injured or substitution needed. Because of his experimenting we see again Mahesh, Rohit adding flavor to our national team. And this means we are constantly progressing with better players competing for national team.
What a performance! 👍 To see India dominate possession and control the match against a credible opposition is very satisfying at a deeper level. I must credit Stimac for making the team play like this. I have never been a fan of Stimac, especially since his early failures and dismal performances but he has delivered this time. This team knows how to play a proper (well almost) passing game and can attack in different ways instead of relying on the same wingplay. That back heel from Poojari was exceptional! Great game. If we can only improve our final pass in the opposition box and shooting then we can be a decent team in Asia! P.S. Rahim Ali does not deserve to be a football player! He is the new Sumit Passi of NT! Get Vikram Pratap in his place. Or Rohit Danu of Siva (if fit).
I still believe we need Rahim Ali. Yes he is a failure in attack as of now, but he gives added physicality and defensive display at the front as well. Against strong opposition rather than someone who seldom gets to the ball or adds this flavor even with exceptional goal scoring abilities, at this moment when India is still rising in its infancy, such players are needed

We have Manvir for that. Plus we have to give chances to other strikers. Cannot depend solely on Chettri now. Let Siva or Vikram become understudy to Chettri and learn from him.
I believe Siva will also get his chance. Have seen Stimac give chances to those deserving even if one has excelled in only 1 isl season. Not sure if he was injured, or it could also be he didnt follow the regime set for him by national team coaching staff and Stimac might have been pissed for that. Anyways, he will get his chance
Stimac actually has been consistently delivering since the final round of Asian cup qualifiers. Everytime he gets sufficient time for a camp he delivers. Only when the team is assembled a day or 2 before friendlies we have seen the team struggle. In his first 2 years he did not have a CB partner for Sandesh with both Anas and Adil letting us down so all he could do was search and experiment
