We do not have any visual sample of how they have played. At this level, we should not judge them by the results only. I am sure the boys did not give a bad account of themselves (again, by the results only : ). They could perhaps drew the match if the red card wasn't there. I liked whatever I saw of them against Strommen.
Our senior team would gulp down 3-4 against the Nowegian kids' senior dadas.
we were absolutely no match..probably our real taste of the physically bigger teams we are going to play..we looked like school kids..defense is at sixes and sevens..if not for Nawaz easily a 5-0 defeat We really need international friendlies like this..playing against club sides is just a false hope and gloriously edited AIFF reports add to it
Norwegians were physically so much superior. Our players looked like their kids. Total one way traffic. No wonder there is some desperation in the scouting department
Here is the best comment : Norway coach - India ran a lot and was tough in duels. They went into the body of our players even though they were a head lower. It was a fun opponent says Johnsen.
Norway players are atleast 3-4 inches more in height and that showed. We were not able to muscle out balls from their feet nor able to challenge anything. To me this is horrendous performance- no match at all against a quality opposition. Absolute disaster.
Its not the result that matters at this point more than what matters is how to are playing and showing ourselves.
Truly speaking at this level, our team is truly totally out of sorts to be playing well in World Cup.
wow AIFF report.. Even in this match they have written such well for Indian team :
"
NEW DELHI: The Indian U-17 World Cup Squad went down fighting 2-0 against Norway U-16 National Team in Norway today (June 29, 2016).
After the Indian Colts were reduced to 10 men in the 54th minute when Sanjeev earned a second yellow card for a rash tackle, Norway took the lead in the 57th minute through Erling Braut Haland and doubled their lead in the 80th minute when Erik Botheim’s strike found the net.
In a match largely contested in the midfield, the Indian colts fostered goal-scoring opportunities but were unable to convert them. In the 16th minute Aniket dribbled past his marker and released a cross which flashed infront of the goalkeeper, but unavailability of men in the 18 yard box left the cross begging.
In the 25th minute, Komal had a golden opportunity to put the Indian colts in the lead had he struck the ball home and not straight down the keeper’s throat, after latching onto a Boris through ball.
After a goalless first half, Sanjeev was red-carded in the 54th minute and India were reduced to ten men. The Indian colts failed to equalize their deficit after conceding goals in the 57th and 80th minute as the full-time scoreline read 2-0 in Norway’s favour."
