@Nagendra- How can this report be good when you can see for yourself in the video how India played. "In a match largely contested in the midfield" - really?
Did Indian players ever had the ball?
"the Indian colts fostered goal-scoring opportunities "- I didn't see any in the highlight"
And what makes me angry is Norway coach making fun of India about how we played---
"India ran a lot and was tough in duels. They went into the body of our players even though they were a head lower. It was a fun opponent says Johnsen."
A Fun opponent (read India), is painted to have given a good fight to Norway. Why paint this false picture.. What good does it do??
When everyone was going ga -ga over the wins against the club opponents, if you look closely in the videos, the opponents could hardly gather the ball- Playing against Norway was good and we should from now onwards forget these club matches (don't even know if they are just local loads playing) and concentrate atleast 60% of the matches against national teams. Even if it means playing Asian teams
I never said report is good.. I mean it is ok from AIFF perspective to report like that...
Regarding play... Norway players looks stronger and are technically better than us..
At this age, stronger and fitter kids in play will make difference.. also it is an away game for us, 10 vs 11 and again football in Europe starts at the age of 5-6 where-as in India, we show interest only when we reach 10 or 12 years which makes lot of difference...
And regarding goal-scoring opportunities.... these are just highlights and it is being uploaded by Norway player/coach... they might have highlighted only their game.. This is just an assumption.. we will get true picture only after watching entire video...
I'm following our Indian team for past 1 year... This team is good atleast in Asian level and hope it will progress to next round. certainly we would have created goal-scoring opportunities in this match...
and I agree with your point... playing national teams is already good and we get to play quality opponent.. but it is not good to arrange tough matches at this time... we still have enough time for U 17 world cup..
also.. after seeing our FIFA ranking, do you think national teams will be in queue to play friendly matches with us..
Our current U16 is good for Asian standards, but when coming to international we are not at that level. Its not the problem with our players, but we India as a footballing nation is yet to develop. First we should aim to be top 5 country in Asia, for the world cup definitely out team will not go out with out giving fight. More than results, now I wish our team play proper football.
It a shame if opponents coach says - India was fun opponent, not on the basis of India's ranking but on the basis of how we played.. That's more than enough to understand that Indians did not fare well in the match
