It is the same in the US and England. Why do you think I love sports so much. Look at the New York City FC soccer team that will be created in the city. People thought that because the team is owned by Manchester City and the Yankees (the most popular team in the country) that it would be easy to get a stadium deal... NO! They have to pay up and even get approval from the city, state, district, people... everyone! And how? Prove that it would work and make money... if it does then go ahead... if not then piss off.

AIFF appoint a Special Committee to advice the Technical structure for the 2017 U-17 FIFA World Cup.

President Mr. Patel suggested that former Indian National Team Captain Bhaichung Bhutia, current Indian National Team Captain Sunil Chhetri and reputed Indian Coach Derrick Pereira form the panel.

Meanwhile, the Coca Cola Cup will form the primary base for talent scouting for the Indian National Team for the 2017 U-17 FIFA World Cup. Boys born on or after January 1, 2000 will be eligible for the Championship.

The Championship will be played first on a zonal format and AIFF will conduct a Seminar with the State Associations explaining the philosophy for Scouting for the Championship. The AIFF Technical Staff would be acting as Scouts for the selection of the National Team for the 2017 U-17 FIFA World Cup.

An U-15 League including all U-15 Teams from Clubs, various Academies including AIFF Academies was also proposed to identify more talent for 2017 U-17 FIFA World Cup.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) is waiting for a green signal from chief minister Manohar Parrikar to make Goa the main training base for India's under-17 World Cup 2017 preparations.

The AIFF already has an Elite under-19 Academy in Goa, while the under-14 squad — layers who will eventually represent the country at the showpiece event three years later — is also training in Goa. But the federation has made it clear that they want Goa to become the hub of all training activities for the under-17 World Cup.

Mr. Sarbananda Sonowal has promised all support to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) in making the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2017 a grand success.

It was indeed a pleasure to meet the Sports Minister on his first day in office,” Mr. Das told www.the-aiff.com.

“I briefed him about the U-17 World Cup and he seemed very enthusiastic about it. He has assured full cooperation from the Government in making the mega event a grand success. A more detailed presentation on the U-17 World Cup and AIFF’s football plan in general will be given to the minister soon,” Mr. Das added.

Echoing the General Secretary, Mr. Dutta, who is from the same state of Assam as the Sports Minister added: “The positive attitude of the Minister towards development of the sport will boost the sport as a whole. We need under 15 league to find new talents for the Aiff academies.
Also, under 15 league will force ileague teams to form decent teams or academies and we might unearth some hidden talents in the tournament.
