Financially ONGC is very strong all they need to do is shift to Delhi and change their name then nobody can stop them.

Also their head office is located in Delhi not Mumbai this is the reason why Patel wanted them to shift their base.

ONGC was asked to move to Delhi but unfortunately they got relegated next season, but now with AIFF president being Heavy Industries Minister(You know what I mean) there is huge possibility of ONGC moving to Delhi next season.

Ya but what will they name themselves?! Where will they play?! Will they market?!

    Here is what will happen.

They will remain as ONGC FC. They will play at the Ambedkar Stadium. They will not market and in a 20,000 seater stadium they will get an average crowd of 1,000 (if lucky). Delhi can only work if the team is being promoted properly and good marketing is done.

    At this stage :
    1) ONGC : 20 points : 3 games to go ( Vasco, USFC & Mohd )
    2) Mohd : 16 points : 3 games to go ( Aizawl, ONGC & USFC )
    3) RWFC : 16 points : 2 games ( Vasco & Kalighat)
    4) USFC : 15 points : 3 games ( ONGC , Aizawl, Mohd)

Vasco on 10 but 2 wins vs RWFC & Kalighat will only get 16 , there only chance would be if Mohd draw vs USFC and USFC lose to ONGC & Aizawl
Also , RWFC would have to lose to Kalighat too
    and
Mohd. would have to lose to Aizawl ,ONGC and draw with USFC

2010 : 2nd Division held at Bangalore : HAL qualifies
    2011 : 2nd Division held @ Shillong : Lajong qualify
2012 : 2bd Division held @ Gangtok : Sikkim yet to win in Gangtok !!
    if the 2nd division hadn't been extended into a 2 leg format , USFC would've been in the I-League for 2012-13 !

Looks like the favorites are trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of history
  • But this year is the first time that the final round is being held in two legs, right?
  • Exactly. USFC may have to wait till next season but I hope they win this year. If they took away 2 leg then USFC would have won. It can still happen though. A lot can happen.

Still there is hope for us to see that ongc might be rejected the offer to be at the top flight along with air india as they would not be able to fulfil the criteria
and in that case the 3rd place team will still have some hope of qualifying

I still hold hope that at the "big" meeting the AIFF and IMG start a brand new 10-12 team league with only select teams allowed along with new requierments. Seriously we should do what the IPL does. Look at the Kochi IPL team, they breached there contract and the IPL straight away expeled them. In the A-League Gold Coast United breached the contract and were still allowed. In the J.League when they started they did not allow every team to be in the league, they allowed a select few. Same with A-League. Australian team Sydney Olympic FC were one of the best teams in Australia but were not allowed in the A-League because they were not financially right.

That is what I want for I-League. Disband this shit 2nd Division. Have 10-12 teams. Create a pool of players that can be drafted, start a salary cap and the rest is history.
