  • Match Day 12:

Vasco SC (Goa) vs Royal Wahingdoh FC (Shillong)

Aizawl FC (Mizoram) vs Mohammedan SC (Kolkata)

    ___________________________________________________

United Sikkim FC (Sikkim) vs ONGC FC (Mumbai)

    ___________________________________________________

Right now I am guessing Royal will beat Vasco. Its a game in the North-east and Royal have been doing okay in the Sikkim phase. They are coming off 2 straight losses but I hope they can overcome that.

Aizawl will lose sadly in my opinion. Mohammedan are just stronger.

Sikkim will have to wake up. Its do or die in this match. They lose they go home and I-League welcome "Mr. Fuck Indian Football lets Promote our Company" back into the the league.

I hate the thought of a 2nd Public Sector team in the I-League too, but one has to acknowledge the following:
ONGC, and HAL in the past and Air India have nurtured young players and at the same time provided JOB stability for players whilst some of the bigger I-League clubs have discarded players after 1 bad season or a season long injury.

ONGC have looked after their players after relegation whilst USFC have failed to pay players for 3-4 months ( funny that the head of the Indian players unions runs a club who didn't pay players).
If USFC don't qualify they will probably withhold payments too !

From a poor players point of view, clubs like ONGC, Oil India, HAL etc are exactly what their parents would hope for.
Until I-League clubs provide insurance and pension schemes etc. PSU teams will still warrant a place in Indian football

I am sorry but god damn it... you got me. That is true. Until a proper structure is brought in then we cant not live without shitty ONGC etc. even though there lack of football marketing kills us in money return and that the I-League is a friendly play tournament for employes.

BUT Baichung did admit that he was having a problem with paying players and that they are alright with it. He said that once they make the I-League that companies like Fiddels World will get more involved with the club financially. Again an example of why this stupid 2nd Division should be banned and that clubs be allowed in the 1st Division via expansion. Who wants to invest in a 2nd Division team in India?

USFC unable to Pay salaries to their players.. did this come in the newspapers?..its totally at odds with what you read all the Baichung schools being opened in the metros...
  • Second leg is pretty unpredictable..I wonder what went wrong with USFC and RWFC in this round.
