Second leg is pretty unpredictable..I wonder what went wrong with USFC and RWFC in this round.
very true,,,it looked like both were sure shot contenders from Promotion to the League...maybe the opposition in this round was of a much higher level , mayb lady luck deserting them..
I really hate AIFF. Royal almost seemed perfect for I-League. Yes they had that controversy but WHICH CLUB HAS NOT BEEN IN CONTROVERSY! Also yes USFC is not paying there players right now BUT that is the life of a football club in the SECOND DIVISION! If clubs are having trouble to get money in the 1st Division, how will they do in a 2nd Division.
Again J.League started in 1993... J.League Division 2 started in 1999. K-League started in 1986... Pro/Rel allowed in 2012. A-League started in 2005... still no pro/rel. MLS started in 1996... still no pro/rel.
NFL India started in 1996... NFL India 2nd Division started in 1997. I-League started in 2007... I-League 2nd Division started in 2008.
We are not fucking England where pro/rel is a need, it is pointless and dangerous in India. How hard is it to see. I bet if we allowed USFC into the league straight away they would be doing great things and maybe we would be seeing a better I-League. Who knows?
Also why does no one on this forum seem to care about the discussion between pro/rel and expansion? It is obvious which one is the right one. The one that can assure that the I-League clubs are stable financially without worrying of relegation. The one that can assure not to many clubs in 1 city. The one that can assure more teams from other cities. Some users on here in fact love the idea of more teams in 1 city and that its been like this for years and how we are not changing... Well fuck that because Indian football is changing. We need to push it. Make the right ideas and put them into action. Come on!
How about answering the question about why new & exciting (and not inexperienced in div-2) teams from NE can't best office teams ?
Such a regionalistic statement. And from you Somnath... I am surprised. I thought I left goal.com where the comments of "Ya take the title away from Goa and bring it to Kolkata" or "FUCK KOLKATA, BRING IT TO GOA" were gone. I was mistaken. They are still here, just different wording.
As for your question let me ask you one first which I kind of did in my first post...
Why is there a need for a 2nd Division? How does it help clubs financially? How has it helped Indian football sense 1996? Does AIFF understand the economics of promotion/relegation? Is it because expansion is used in America and that America is "supposedly" a "non-soccer" country that people still think that Europe uses pro/rel, why not India?
It's not a regionalistc statement at all. There are 7 clubs in div-2 and 3 of them are from NE. No one here lauds the organizational structure of Vasco, Mohammedan or Kalighat MS. Since everyone is convinced that teams from NE are so good, I just questioned why they can't perform on field. Simple question.
PS: Thailand, Malaysia, Syria have relegation and promotion, We can all give examples to suit our pov.

Yet they are way behind Japan, Australia, Japan and the United States when it comes to football. And I mean way, way behind. Also going by the AFC Cup rankings... both India and Syria both have 2 teams in AFC Cup and none in AFC Champions League. Great league my ass. Malaysia... you kidding me. I-League is better than Malaysia. Malaysia only have 1 club in the AFC Cup (1 also in qualification), India with 2 automatically.
Thailand is an alright example... BUT notice how from 1996-2007 they only had 10-12 clubs! Also it is a league that survives on foreigners and yet has not done better than I-League ever did.
Now please tell me how promotion/relegation will help India directly?

You gave example of Japan twice :P
How about Uzbekistan? Easily the most improved Asian nation over last half a decade. Two divisions with promotion relegation. Pakhtakhor has reached 2 AFC Ch L SF, Nasaf Qarshi are current AFC Cup champions. Good enough for you?

The only miracle for RWFC:-
Royal Wahingdoh FC 1 - 0 Kalighat
Mohamedan SC 0 - 0 United Sikkim
Mohamedan SC 0 - 3 ONGC
Mohamedan SC 0 - 1 Aizawl
United Sikkim 0 - 3 ONGC
