<p>Wow, they actually asked him about his salary. Horrible questions, most of them have no relation to football whatsoever...</p>
<br><div><br></div><div>Thats standard journalism anywhere. I have read many articles where guys are asked about there salary and all that. Of course though 100% of the time the player/coach never says. It is a stupid question though.</div>
How about answering the question about why new & exciting (and not inexperienced in div-2) teams from NE can't best office teams ?
<br><div><br></div><div>@Somnath</div><div>my opinion is that the NE teams only want to pick from NorthEastern players and thus limit themselves.</div><div>FC Aizawl only pick Mizo players ( + 3 foreigners), thus they only have a population of 1 million to pick from ( obviously half of that are women , and kids etc, so the real pool is considerably smaller)</div><div>RWFC pick from the whole of the NorthEast ( + 4 foreigners & 2 non NE goalkeepers) , they are thus picking their outfield players from a population of 38 million</div><div>Of the 38 million NE , 27 million are from Assam !</div><div>The top players from Assam have traditionally opted to play for Oil India, ASEB , ONGC ( goalkeeper is from Assam) and other PSU teams.</div><div>This leaves an even smaller pool of players for the other 8 (2nd Division) clubs to choose from ( the 8 clubs i listed include NISA, the 3 Shillong teams , FC Aizawl , USFC & the 2 Assam teams.</div><div>{ Also note there are no Assamese players in I-League teams } </div><div><br></div><div>If ONGC were to select players from Maharashtra alone , they would have a population of 112 million to choose from !</div><div><br></div><div>I know that NE region has more footballers and its is the # 1 team sport in the area & all the other factors.....BUT the best NE players are all playing for the top Goan & Kolkata clubs.</div><div>The CFL has traditionally had numerous players from the NorthEast,as does the Bangalore Super Division ( many of the players on MEG and there Army teams are from NE ) .</div><div><br></div><div>If one of the NE clubs could manage to grab the top players , you could have a team to lift the I-League :</div><div><div>Ashok Singh (GK ) : Sporting Club de Goa</div><div>Robert Lathlamuana (Left Back) : East Bengal </div><div>Surkumar Singh ( Right Back) : Mohun Bagan</div><div>Gouramangi Singh ( Central Defender) : Churchill Bros</div><div>Khelemba Meitei ( Central Defender) : Salgaocar</div><div>Rocus Lamare (Center Mid ) Salgaocar</div><div>Sanju Pradhan (Cm) East Bengal </div><div>Lalrindika Ralte ( Left Mid) : Churchill Bros</div><div>Reisangmi Vashum ( Right mid) : East Bengal </div><div>Jeje (striker ) : Pune FC </div></div><div>+ Odafe/Ranty Martins </div>
