United Sikkim should withdraw from fed cup and 2nd div qualifiers......the club itself should shut down it's an embarrassment for our state...fed cup begins in January and till now the club does not have a coach neither it has players...
You want city based franchise- well Aizawl FC is there. Corporate route is open still if any team is interested. but this is election year 2014 and they are money tight this time.
I dont believe Aizawl is like Bengaluru or Pune. To me they are still in the amateur/semi-pro era (for example, their crest looks like some wordart app).
They just dont give me that "professional" feeling that Bengaluru or Pune do... same with others like Sporting Goa. Shillong Lajong I would consider as well but they still are accused of things like not paying players etc etc.
Well as I see it, Football, then map of Mizoram and then Cross as Christianity is the main religion there. Have you ever been to Bible Belt of USA in Deep South? Its similar to that in North East with lot of Evangelical, Baptist and Presbyterian Church. If Religion can attract people towards Football, thats great.
Interesting choice of venues for 2nd Division. Dhanbad, Gangtok, Silchar and then Aizawl at the end. By the way what happened to the club Langsning FC? They were so good last year.
