    21-02-2012 RESULTS
    Techno Aryan FC Vs Quartz FC 1-1

    Gauhati Town Club Vs SESA FA 3-2

    Kolkata Team Kalighat MS reach in the
    Final round from this Group as 2nd team.

    OMG! Thats unexpected. I thought it would be SESA winning 5-0. Oh well. Rather Kalighat in the Final Round than SESA anyway.
  • Well, I pointed these things out not out of hatred towards USFC, just that I feel PFC IS a more professional club. I think USFC is the best thing that happened to Indian football, after PFC & Mumbai FC (pity they did not live up to the promises shown at the beginning). Please do not bunch comments on the basis of the commenter’s states.

    Oh, while we are about it: De Ridder does not hold an A license, so no comparisons to Hall. Fidelis are not the sponsors, they are the owners/ promoters (sponsor is Bengal EMTA, a mining company – not a mainstream corporate). And Baichung is co-owner, doubling up as a player (I mean not recruited).

    I didnt. I am just stating that a bunch of people from West Bengal and a few from Goa are now pissed at United Sikkim now. I am guessing its because of the Ar-Hima accident and the fact that there coach was Bengali
  • Guys look at the map I have here on the 2012 I-League 2nd Division Final Round...

    <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_I-League_2nd_Division_Final_Round#Final_Round_Table"; onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_I-Lea ... ound_Table</a><!-- m -->

    You can clearly see how the North-East is dominating the West.

    Team Count:

    2 in Kolkata
    - Mohammedan
    - Kalighat

    3 in the North-East
    - United Sikkim
    - Aizawl FC
    - Royal Wahingdoh FC

    1 in Goa
    - Vasco

    1 in Mumbai
    - ONGC FC

    So then, 6 States are being represented. This is actually the perfect 2nd Division. 7 teams (I would like 8 though) with 6 states being represented. Out of the 7 clubs. 5 of them represent there city/state. 1 represents tradition and 1 is named after a company.

    All I have to say is... <!-- s:happy-wavemulticolor: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/happy/wavemulticolor.gif" alt=":happy-wavemulticolor:" title="Multicolor Wave" /><!-- s:happy-wavemulticolor: -->

    I hope it will be Royal Wahingdoh and United Sikkim FC. Mohammedan is good also because I hear that Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan derbies are amazing and crowd pullers but I dont want 5 or potentially 6 Kolkata clubs in the league next season.

    So then, GO UNITED SIKKIM, ROYAL WAHINGDOH AND AIZAWL FC!!!

    Royal would be a good addition but I would prefer a team from Mizoram which has good number of players representing India after Manipur from North-East.

    I wish AIFF terminate Arrows and promote extra team from 2nd division.

    If we promote a third team than I am sure Mohammedan would be promoted then. I cant see them making top 2 nor can I see them doing worse than 3rd. Aizawl could be promoted in 2013. If they dont get promoted then Aizawl could then professionalize themselves even further. Like getting a English website and all but I do agree with what you are saying. Pailan Arrows I cant see being terminated though. I still wish AIFF would grow some balls and force Pailan to move Arrows to Delhi and rename them New Delhi Young Boys FC.

    At any given point of time, there should be at least 3-4 teams from NE: we have SLFC, plus I would prefer RW (a must) and may be Aizawl FC since they are well organized.

    These plus USFC, whom I do not consider truly a NE club. And arrows may be disbanded, instead the junior team hone their skills abroad, not trudge along in I-league, compromising its pro nature.

    Whatever you say about United Sikkim <!-- s:handgestures-thumbup: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/handgestures/thumbup.gif" alt=":handgestures-thumbup:" title="Thumb Up" /><!-- s:handgestures-thumbup: -->

    I still think the ideal situation would be for AIFF to disband Pailan Arrows and allocate all the players between all 16 or 14 or how many teams we have.

    Also Aizawl will be promoted in 2013. This year I cant see anyone else but Sikkim and Wahingdoh, followed by Mohammedan and then Aizawl.

    No Mohammedan SC please, even though they can choke the stands with their supporters; because, 1) More than 2-3 clubs from a single place will do a lot of harm to the appeal of the league, 2) In this second millennium AD we really do not need football fans divided on religious lines, at least in India; whatever happened in the last century has happened, we need to move forward.

    Now how to prevent 1): I propose a simple bar on the number of clubs from any city, say 3. If a fourth club still wants to play in div 2, they can but will not be promoted unless there is a vacancy from that place.
