can you stop comparing national cricket team to i-league ,both are two different thing,if you want to compare then compare it indian football team,i-league to ranji or whatever equalient

I am sorry but since I don't want the I league to become a Ranji trophy in terms of popularity or following or grooming young talent so much so that they remain only tigers in their own soil, in fact no one with an iota of sanity would, it doesn't quite fit my understanding and expression of EQUIVALENCE, which is pretty different from what i see in the post above. Already referees from states like Tamil Nad, Gujarat with ZERO FOOTBALL CULTURE are a enough cause of concern when it comes to running the game in a fair manner.

Just because Bengal has Football culture it doesn't mean they are the BOSS ! Talent is not spread to particular location it can be from anywhere. There is nothing wrong in having referee from such states, when FIFA World Cup can have a referee from a country like Seychelles ranked 189.

Secondly stop being insecure, nobody is against Bengal Football.

Anyhow I want usfc, rwfc,so the league will be interested
  • Ok, projenator, let me just say I am sorry if you feel we are discriminating against Bengali Football, even me (specially me). Let me just explain why some people are angry about somethings that Rudra mention.

    1) Why do the bengal (and Goa) teams doing well in 2nd div.
    - Well its not that. Its just that while having Mohammedan in the I-League would be ok due to attendance we need more teams spread across India. Consider this, in America we had 2 top leagues MLS which was PAN-America and APSL which was all Eastern America. Which did better. MLS did and the APSL folded after 2 seasons. Also you guys have a lot of teams (admit it). Adding an extra would only lessen corporate interest in I-League and make the league less stable.

    2) Why Prayag can't shift outside bengal?
    - Because Bengal now hase the Bengal Premier League Soccer, Kolkata Football League, Bengal Soccer League and East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. That is it. Prayag cant even get a crowd at the Salt Lake Stadium which is 120,000 in capacity. Also why not move to places like Ranchi etc. At least they would gain a great crowd, government support and a good youth population. How is it bad!

    3) Why Chirag Kerala has Bengali coach
    - We just think that Chirag having a Bengali coach means that they will move to Kolkata soon. We dont mind if they have one. Its just that now Chirag is hiring all these Bengali's to the club that it is almost certain to predict the club moving to Kolkata.

    4) Why we have PLS.
    - Well why do we. This just ruined Indian Football. Yes youth comes last and money comes first for a STATE LEAGUE! NPL is the better format. Focus on youth not stupid past it icon players.

    5) Why YBK had less crowd in Indian match
    - You must admit that was bad. 40,000 a game for East Bengal and Mohun Bagan while 5,000 for India.

Also dont compare Football and Cricket. Very different. And Deb_Ban makes a good point. Why allow a religious club in when we are entering the 21st century of Football.

And Reffs. Just deal with it, every referee in the world is bad. It will never change.

The discussion is going nowhere...plz come back to 2nd div please

hey, just showing that we are not against the Bengali clubs. Sure we have some complaints but we also have complaints against every other fed as well.

Anyway back to the 2nd Division... GO UNITED SIKKIM, ROYAL WAHINGDOH AND AIZAWL!
  • Ok so I am now in a dilemma. I 100% want United Sikkim FC in the I-League next season but now I am deciding between Royal Wahingdoh FC and Aizawl FC. Royal Wahingdoh FC would be the ideal team as they are more experienced as a professional team and the Shillong area is already a given destination but Aizawl have this coming soon...

    Aizawl-Rajiv-Gandhi-Stadium.jpg

Its amazing but at the same time I think its more ideal for Royal Wahingdoh FC to get promoted as they already have a good stadium in Shillong (mind you could use a lot of work to make the fans feel better), and like I said they are more professionally experienced and are already very stable financially. I think it would be better for Aizawl to come in for the 2013-14 season when the stadium will be most likely complete and when Aizawl is more stable.

    For those wondering about the current situation of the stadium... <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href=" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;"> m -->
