The league is just started we cant predict the result from just 1-2 matches....may be after the completion of first leg it will be more open and we would come up with 3-4 team who will be having real chances this time by then
@Somnath_Sengupta and @Shankar Almost my point... super close though. What I mean is that every club should be promoted only if they follow a certain criteria and come from a market untapped or a market that can have another team (like Shillong). RIght now I dont even like that we have promotion/relegation. I-League and I-League 2nd Division are to unstable to have that and be financially viable. Also in countries like England the relegated teams gain parachute money, tell me... do relegated I-League teams gain money from AIFF for being relegated. Also again my example of ONGC and HAL should have gotten to a few people already and how Lajong and Sporting went down.
That is why I think expansion is the way forward for India till we can get a 20 team I-League and 20 team I-League 2nd Division and possibly a 3rd Division which is when we can go do promotion/relegation.
Aizawl and Delhi I know are developing cities but are rising with clubs like Aizawl FC and Delhi United FC. Anyway with expansion these 2 places can wait. Expansion happens every 2-4 years. Look at MLS, they started with 10 teams and now 16 years later have 19 clubs (not to mention great players like Thierry Henry and David Beckham).
I know this seems stupid and all that but trust me it will pay off in the long term. That is what we need to think, long term.
