the format of the I-League 2nd Div favours the teams that directly arrive in Final Phase.

Although they don't have the match practice from round 1 that the other 6 teams have , they benefit from :
    No fatigue
    No Injury problems
    No yellow card/red card troubles

    Yes totally agreed

The proof is in the results from last year.
Wahingdoh and Mohd and Southern Samity came in with good qualifying records from round 1 , but Sporting CLub de Goa & Shillong Lajong qualified with ease in the end.

Samity had Edmilson suspended for the 1st 2 games
Wahingdoh had players out injured for the 1st half of 2nd leg

This years extended format should help even out this irregularity, its only been 2 games, ONGC could still finish bottom, a lot of you are getting too carried away.

AM I GETTING AWAY! AM I!!!! NO YOU ARE CRAZY!!!! NOT ME!! AHHHAAHH!

its not like last year where losing more than 2 games cost teams the chance of I-League

This year teams have 12 games rather than 7, so its still very early in that League to decide who will finish where.

My point was people talking of ONGC in I-League are missing a crucial factor , irrespective of where they finish in the 2nd Division they are not guaranteed entry to I-League

What most of you don't know is the 'small print'

If ONGC finish 1 or 2 and they don't fulfill the criteria, the 3rd placed team doesn't get elevated !!
The 2nd from bottom team in the I-League wil not get relegated instead !!!

This was what Sunando explained at last years 2nd Division meeting and I'm sure the same rule applies ( unless Sikkim Utd finish 3rd of course)

Guessing your true. Although I still dont like Chirag in the league, they dont even see that the Municipal Stadium is a good stadium for them, not Kaloor.

Also the Final Round 2nd Part is in Sikkim so United Sikkim could end in 1st because of that.

BTW does anyone know the crowd in Siliguri. Lets see if it is the right place for Prayag.

they will not be able to fulfil the criteria mostly but even if they fulfil it,.. wont that mean they will be a better managed club ??

No that would not. The criteria is not hard. The AIFF is not strict enough to add to the criteria. That is why I see no hope with ONGC in I-League. If we followed criteria strictly then half the I-League clubs would not be here.
