So no one has a comeback for why Mohammedan or Vasco (or even ONGC or Kalighat) should be in I-League. Well then... lets go United Sikkim FC and Royal Wahingdoh!
Given all the allegations against USFC, they should be denied entry into the I-League for the next 3 years.
Disgraceful behavior from the club run by the player who also heads the FPAI !
Wouldn't surprise anyone if, the USFC manager ( ex EB ) was the guy responsible for breaking the news on the sex scandal involving Kalighat & Mohammedan players
Indian football is sinking faster than its growing

Lets do some inside reading
"Confirming the development, GTC general secretary Devajit Saikia told The Telegraph that the club has also withdrawn from the Airtel Assam State Premier League that is under way in Diphu since Saturday and would now focus only on its academy, as far as football is concerned." - GOOD NEWS! The club is shit, they dont have a proper senior team, they are like Tata Football Academy, great Academy but dont have a proper senior team (yes I know about how much they were paid). At least they can focus on there academy and maybe be title contenders in the 2nd Division.
"Saikia’s allegation assumes significance, as even the country’s star footballer Bhaichung Bhutia is accused of being involved in match fixing during the Silchar leg of the same tournament last month. Bhaichung, however, has denied the allegations." - Sooooooooooooooo, how is this bad, Baichung denied it, there is no proof. Why accuse the club before proven guilty. Also even though I dont believe that Sikkim did anything why would we be so mad about this. There is always controversy and match-fixing going on, even in the Premier League. Not a non-common problem.
"Shillong club Ar Hima FC has lodged an official complaint with the All India Football Federation against Bhutia’s United Sikkim of bribing some of its key players to lose a match between the two sides." - Again not proven.
"Those involved in the Silchar leg have also doubts over Aizawl FC’s win against United Sikkim by virtue of which both the teams qualified for the final leg of the tournament in Gangtok from March 29." - WTF!!!!! HAS ANYONE EVER HEARD OF THIS! United Sikkim were already through! They played there "B" team. Also why would anyone think we helped Aizawl FC in. Its the clubs fault for that and also IF and I am saying IF the opponents were payed off does that tell you that the players were not being payed well.
"Elaborating on his allegation of match fixing, Saikia said: “We had fielded a team strong enough to win matches against at least four of the opponents we played in the Cuttack leg of the tournament. The team itself proved it by defeating Sesa FA of Goa, which was technically the strongest outfit in the leg, in the last match. Surprisingly, our team lost those matches where we were in command, which led to suspicion. After we lost three matches, which we should have won, we decided to send our men to look into the matter in Cuttack where they found something not very comfortable with the team’s behaviour on and off the field. We were almost convinced that at least two of the matches against leading Calcutta clubs were fixed and we showcaused every player of the team.” Give me a break. They beat SESA on the last day big woop. They still lost to some random Orissa club, they lost to Royal Wahingdoh and lost to Aryan and Kenkre. FYI, you should win those games.
Oh and United Sikkim and GTC were never in the same group.
@gaffertape Also United Sikkim and GTC were never in the same group so why would they pay the GTC players to lose matches if United Sikkim and GTC were in different states! They lost to some easy teams.
I hope Gauhati come back up but this is more ridiculous than last season when Vasco SC said that they should be promoted instead of Shillong. Well AIFF said no and now look. If we had Vasco we would be missing out on the goodness of the Shillong fans.
Also this is another reason I want pro/rel and that we need expansion. If we expanded then we would be able to choose directly (based off criteria) which clubs can be in the TOP DIVISION and there would be no complaints.
Also gaffer, what do you have against United Sikkim, why do you hate them.

Did you even read my posts? :P You still haven't established why Mohammedan deserves to be not in I-League. Sure their management is poor but their fan base is 10 times more than the fan base of USFC and Royal, combined.

I thought I did though. Anyway, Indian Football is moving into a more professional era. Its like Aizawl FC, we know they will get a great crowd but they are not financially able. Almost the same with Mohammedan. We want more professional teams moving on, United Sikkim and Royal Wahingdoh have professional management's and can draw crowds. The only thing Mohammedan is better at is uniform design (I love the Mohammedan uniform, white sleeves and green shirt and white shorts with green socks. Almost like Arsenal)
Also the reason United Sikkim and Royal Wahingdoh are not at a high enough fan base is because they are not up in I-League yet. Once they get promoted I am sure they will do what Lajong did after promotion and look to spread there club across the North East and Northern India.
Also let me say this, players and crowd alone should not justify entry into the top league. Thats not how it works. If that was the case then in the Premier League we would see teams like Charlton Athletic or Leeds United back in the league. They get amazing crowds but they are not ready. How about Portsmouth, they are close to folding yet have an amazing crowd for D2. Should they be in the Premier League?

Actual professionalism of USFC and Royal will be tested when they play football in top level and have to balance local football with travelling around India to play I-League. You were talking about Mohammedan SC not having a site some days back (neither did Dempo when they reached AFC Cup semis btw) but have you checked USFC's site? The last update their site has is from 23rd March, 2011, declaring launch of the site. NO new, NO updates since then. Not a single one. Is this professionalism? It is easy to stereotype clubs based on lack of available sources. Mohammedan's poor administration has been highlighted in media too many times to find anything positive about them but saying clubs which have never even played in top level are completely "professional" is also stretching it too long.
True. You make a good argument. Okay, Round 2 (yes, to me this is a game ) Does Mohammedan have a fully worked facebook or twitter like Royal and USFC do. (Royal dont do twitter but they do facebook) Also like I supposedly did not read your post you did not read that link I put here which had the American Soccer Federation criteria.
Also why should a controversial club be in I-League. I agree we already have that in I-League but they are here, at least we can change that through the 2nd Division.
if we start discussing about the best clubs getting promoted we will be left with none for promotion in fact of the current i-league clubs themselves dont know how to run the club...most of clubs in indian football believe in the thing that buy some good players from other club and just hope to win some tournament....this is not the way to run the club may be we should go back to 8-10 team league removing all those clubs who are without any vision about their club(forgetting how good they had been in the present stage or in past)..
