Agree but theres were proven to be good. Chhetri has trained from QPR to MLS to Rangers to Sporting Lisbon. Baichung trained with Bury FC when they were a little better as a club. The training/stints did make them better but it was because the coaching and facilities here were actually good enough that even if they did not play much (which both did, Chhetri a lot for the reserves with KC and then a bit with Sporting and Baichung with Bury).
What I am saying here though is that we can assume that Vikings have these great facilities and coaching but we don't know for sure if they will have the desired impact we want. With Chhetri and Baichung we could rest assured knowing they would come back better as the clubs they went to had a history, Vikings don't. In fact, Denmark is barely goalkeeper/football capital of Europe. We just hear Danish Superliga, Europe etc and automatically think Subrata Pal will just become a monster even if he does not play much. Personally I don't believe that. I think his lack of playing time will hinder him and he will want to come back to I-League soon. I saw the reserve match for Vikings and honestly it was no better than I-League... okay... perhaps a bit better but regardless, I just don't believe that the facilities and such alone will mean he will come back a better player.
Back to Subrata Pal. You know what I like about him? He's fearless. Just like Neuer. Sometimes it costs India but how would we should goalkeepers not to be like this? However, I still remember when Abijit Mondal was "fearless" for East Bengal in the AFC Cup against Al Kuwait a few months ago....
@rudra da well he could well have become a goon unless he met with his coach.... Heard this while interning at HT from Dhiman Sarkar when talking about him and his trails
